Good read.

And it makes me sad.

A consistent trend in that is Jabrill Peppers. If you have watched UM, you'll know why he is brought up so much. The guy is an absolute stud in coverage but in perimeter runs or bubble screens, he is a monster. I wish we had someone like him, it makes a huge difference

Muschamp can get us where we need to be on defense. Look no farther than Florida to see what he was able to do. No way we are even talking about McElwain if it weren't for the defense they are playing down there.

i think Carlton Davis could be that guy next year. He is good to be a true freshman.

Davis, Dinson, and Irvin are all going to be really good.

I think Davis will end up a very legit CB but he isn't like Peppers.

Peppers looks like a LB on the edge. Peppers is a "S" who covers like an elite CB, hits hard, elite at fighting off blocks and is a sure tackler.

Peppers is what we were hoping Tre Matthews to be this year

Ben Davis
quote:

Davis is close to his own group of 2016 elites, including the prospects who follow him among the top three seniors in the Yellowhammer State rankings. The only committed one has been heavy on his trail.

"I'm close with Raekwon, Marlon Davidson, Mack (Lyndell Wilson), big Dexter Lawrence, A.J. Brown," he said. "We probably don't talk recruiting as much as everybody thinks, mostly just normal stuff that high school dudes would talk about. It's not even always football.

"Marlon really wants me to come to Auburn with him. It affects me a lot because having him on the D-line in front of me, I think, would be great. And at Auburn we both would get immediate playing time. In my mind, wherever I go, I'm going to take somebody's spot anyway."
UGA, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, & FSU will get official visits.

UGA this weekend vs Mizzou.
LSU vs Arkansas.

No dates on the final three officials. He was in Tuscaloosa for the Arkansas game.

I agree. I think this year is a direct result of Ellis being so terrible. Those in the fire Gus camp are just retards. That would set us back for years.

We shouldn't fire Gus, but there are clearly some "red flags" that need to be addressed soon that are on Gus

-Roster Management (HC is ultimately responsible)
-Discipline
-Inconsistent play
-Recruiting issues

Gus has only been a D1 CFB coach for 3.5 years now, he is new and still learning (not like he had a good HC in Nutt/TulsaHC/Chiz to learn from). He just needs to finish learning on the job and start fixing things soon

Bingo. Our recruiting will be insane in the next couple of years if we retain this staff.

We have said this so many times it hurts my head to count. If we continue to suck it will be "insane" but not in a good way

But it's true this time. Muschamp knows how to build a defense. D. Craig knows how to close deals on big time offensive recruits.

DCraig's recruiting track record is getting kids to FSU, TRob to UF, L Thompson to Bama

All those schools had a mixture of being big instate schools, winning and fun night life.

They are great recruiters but right now we are small instate school, losing and average night life.

If the night life is that much of a draw, we're fricked forever. I don't really think it is, though.

How many years do we get to pretend this?

I'm just glad Garner is focusing on coaching away the bad habits from the old staff. Lord knows it's paying dividends on the field.

I don't think it is the clincher for most kids. I mean, it is good enough to not be a liability but we aren't selling it to anyone

We just aren't a NFL pipeline, we aren't winning, we aren't the in state school and we have an average nightlife. I don't care how cool DCraig or TRob are, that's a tough sell.

**Lance Thompson just hooks up with the moms so he still will pull some guys

There was something out there about Lance Thompson hooking up with people and some other fan bases were saying he sealed the deal with some recruit by hooking up with their mama

It obviously is false but it is still hilarious. Like the "bagman"
