this one is the weird one here. Not sure who all that would include of what it would entail.

I would love to see Rocker. I have noticed some on here don't think much of his coaching ability. I thought our DL was stout under him. It was the lone bright spot of the D when he was with us, IMO.

I love Rocker as a coach and I think the only reason he left was that he didn't like the situation that was with Chizik. If Muschamp and Auburn came calling with a solid offer I think he would come back. I never got the feeling that he likes to recruit though and I thought he even said that one time.

He couldn't do worse at TE/ST than Fountain anyways

That is the truth.

He left for an nfl job, not bc of chizik... not to mention more money and no recruiting obligations.

Wrong thread, but Duke Williams is currently 230 pounds and plans on reporting to spring practice around 210 pounds. That is his goal, anyways.

is this what he was playing at this year or did he gain some weight during the holidays?

Rocker is a get it done by any means necessary type of coach. He does not care if you swim, speed, or bull-rush so long as you get it done. That is great with upper-classmen. Which is why our DL was so great in 2010. Blanc flourished in the backup role where he could bull-rush all the time.

But it is not so great when you have young guys. That is why we sucked in 2011 when both our DTs had no experience and little tools to overcome inexperience.

Ive thought for awhile now if Duke was 15 pounds lighter it would make a huge difference.

Yes, I remember him saying he was around 232 after the Arkansas game

He was around 225 before the season so he likely played at that weight.

Lawing is the only other position coach that I could see potentially coming from Florida but he has an assistant head coach tag there so it would be a downward move for him to come here.

@FootballScoop: Sources tell us Oakland Raiders defensive line coach Terrell Williams has agreed to become new DL coach at Florida

Those titles are also meaningless. It really boils down to money. No one would take less money to be
Assistant head coach elsewhere.

you say that but they are all resume builders. Assistant head coaches often handle day to day stuff that head coaches typically handle. I always heard that Trooper did a good bit of day to day stuff for Chizik whether good or bad. If nothing else, the title will help get into interviews for a step up.

this makes no sense. A player of need and our staff is putting conditions on an offer?

I think that means we will offer the players he is putting together to make up the big time group. Like the big time cb recruit from Cali we hadn't offered until recently (not that we have a chance at him necessarily, just that we will offer players we haven't yet if they are studs and we haven't offered for some reason).

And I just saw I'm repeating Rigs post, ignore me too.

Also means the coaches will take a guy we don't particuarly want/need in order to get the larger group. Not necessarily a highly regarded recruit, etc.
