You will see much more throwing to our backs this year and beyond. (Much more starting in 2015 IMO) Kerryon said part of what he liked about AU was Rhett/Gus telling him he would line up in Slot at times due to his WR type skills. He and McGriff are two kids that I can see being in future Heisman talk with all the ways they can be used.

We need both a QB who can effectively hit those RB dump passes.

Also, I believe Gus and Rhett want to use the RB in the passing game more but it is still unknown how effective they will be at incorporating it. I believe they will do a good job die to their skills managing offenses but still an unknown

It would be a new wrinkle. Gus has not used RBs in the pass game much in any of his previous stops.

It wouldn't be a shock if we ended up number one with this upcoming class if the season goes well.

Yes it would. Bama already has a class that would finish 4th last year and they still have 7 spots left in this class. They have virtually locked up #1. The race is for #2 this year.

You may be right.
We are 8 months and a SEC season away from signing day. That's a long time!

Last year I underestimated this coaching staff like most people, and everyone overestimated Alabama. I've seen enough. I won't make that mistake again. I think we're looking at a repeat except this time Auburn may put on a better show(both sides). When it comes to Georgia and Alabama recruits, the games could have a big impact on who goes where, plus we still have the advantage/disadvantage of giving a real opportunity for early playing time. the tide is going out

Games usually don't for same year signees unless there is a major coaching change. Kids believe in AU and this staff now unlike before last year started for some of our signees. Now it will be relationships that win recruiting battles at this point. Games can have a bigger effect on 2016 and 2017 kids though. FWIW I think 2016 will be an AUsome class.

I would love to see us run some half back screens this year. We definitely have the o line to do it. Bama kills ppl with the HB screen.

Kipp Adams says AU is in good shape to land Tray Mathews. I find it hard to believe Richt will release him to AU.

Being discussed in the Tray Matthews thread and a release from Richt is not needed if Tray walks on.

If anyone has questions about Gus' ability to adapt his offense to fit the skill set of his players, I have some wonderful, water front property to sell them.

Given this is his first year with a repeat QB, I imagine that we will see several firsts this season. Plus, I find it ludicrous to suggest he may not be "able" to incorporate it into the offense.

Just to clarify buddy, I was not saying nor implying Gus could not adapt his O to fit personnel. That would be a ludacrous assertion to make. I was just pointing out the reality that he has not used RBs much in the pass game through his college career til now. Just stating a fact. No big assertion tagged along with it.

E, sorry for your name being the one replied to. I know you don't personally believe that! I was just making a general statement. I can see how it could look that way. My apologies.

If you didn't read my post as an incredulous homer but instead at face value, you'll come away with a different meaning. Everyone is simply stating that Gus hasn't incorporated RBs In the passing game and it is an unknown how effective it will be in the offense. Not saying he can or can't make it work well, he likely will be great, just that we can't know

we shouldn't. frick him if he feels that way. Burn the bridges as you go and you regret it later. He is a good player but he isn't elite enough to take a bunch of shite off of.

I never gave a shite. Offensive linemen are very hard to grade and our line is a different beast all together. I wouldn't have the first idea of how to grade high school linemen to fit the blocking schemes that Malzahn and Grimes implement. If the coaches wanted Warmack then I am ok with that but I never thought we had any sort of chance with him since his brother was a draft pick just a couple years ago at our biggest rival.

My bad then. It just seemed funny to me. We have seen him morph things many times to tailor the offense to fit his players. Was it the word ludicrous that got in y'alls craw? Wasn't meant to be insulting. Thought it was all tough guys over here?
