I hope we take Patterson and Williams. Then if Ivey wants in, we can make room. That would be 7 counting Golson, but IDGAF, injuries happen and we could see several guys leave early.

Terry Godwin visited recently with his family to talk to Gus, and will be at BCW

Also per KN...AUC has been led to believe AU is number two behind UGA currently.

Also exciting that his family visited with him.

Keith said that this happens more often than we realize at times. Committed kids like to keep it on the DL if possible, and who can blame them. But maybe waiting to commit is advisable if you still want to look around?

FWIW this was verified by an AUC poster who talks to Godwin's HS coach. The HS coach said AU is likely #2 as things stand now.

Recruiting related from an AL.com article discussing Stephen Roberts flip:
quote:

"The toughest thing I had to do was call Alabama and tell them I was de-committing and committing to Auburn," Roberts said. "But everyone had a lot of respect with what I was doing. I didn't have any problems with fans; most of them wanted me to go to Auburn anyway."

Say what? Is he saying bama fans wanted him to flip to AU? Is there any truth to this?

I think he meant the Opelika people in the area. Just seems like Bama fans didn't give him a bunch of shite. Probably because they expected him to flip + they ended with a few 5* CBs so that cushions the blow

Yes. The Bams are Star-crazy. They wanted him to flip so they had room for their 5* targets Marlon Humphrey and Tony Brown plus 1 they missed they thought they had in Jalen Tabor.

Not to mention he was basically visiting Auburn once a week while committed to Bama. That surely didn't rub their fanbase the right way (rightfully so)

Doubtful. The last time he was there was 5 weeks ago. AU visit was probably more recent.

Tyler Carr told Rivals AU & Bama are tied at the top and UGA is 3rd. He also said he doesn't know if he could commit to AU this weekend if he wanted to.

Taken from UGA recruiting thread.

Interview by DeVote Lambert

quote:

At one point, you had listed UGA as leader. What happened there? “It got serious at a point but then it just went downhill. During my visit, it was serious. But after that, everything just went downhill. They were in touch with me, but I just knew that it wasn’t going to be the team for me. I just thought I had better options.”

quote:

Which coach was the hardest to turn down? “I can say Coach Garner. With his background and everything, it’s hard to say no to him

Here's UGA poster reactions

quote:

it sounds like some shady stuff went on with his recruitment.

quote:

Better options???

quote:

Sounds like the bagman is back in business.

That's some shady sounding stuff

Tyler Queen WILL BE at BCW. It was reported otherwise due to a 7on7 tournament. But he has arranged to be there. Also competes for Elite 11 Monday in OH.

That is good news. Always good to have the QB face of the class at BCW. Appears he is more well liked than our last white chubster mobile QB at BCW

Also, didn't know where to put this but UGA fans are pissed about my thread on the SECr. Didn't even mean to troll them that hard
