The Vols will be better. I am not ready to credit Ms. Thiggy for that, but they will improve.

TN is the only team in the country that doesn't return a starter on the OL or DL... they'll have good skill players, but a green OL and still no QB.

they could be worse in 2014.

I am not saying Thig can coach. I'm just saying we don't know if he can or not because he was not allowed to when he was here under Chiz per people close to the program FWIW.

Don't forget that 2 of their OL, their OTs no less, were projected 1-2nd RD players. Richardson may have gone UDFA but it was due to serious injury concerns not talent/production

They only recruited well last year so they have no upperclassmen people to plug along the line

No. Just no. Of all the old coaches, I have only heard universal hatred for Thigpen from players. Doesn't matter what position group, DB, LB, OL or ST, I have yet to meet someone who spoke positively about Thig.

Only other person who received that much hate was Boulaware

He is a great recruiter, sub-par human being, and horrible coach.

This isn't quite true. He couldn't coach worth a lick while at UNC. He is a hired gun recruiter. He'll never get beyond the position coaching ranks.

seems like a corey grant type situation... walkon and sit out the transfer year... get on scholarship down the road.

works out well for everybody... ole miss doesn't have to "release" him... Golson gets to be closer to home and is only out the in-state tuition... AU gets a quality OL prospect.

He's a DB's version of Troopah. Gotcha.

Yes they did...and they did, to talk to 2 schools, AU and FSU. Otherwise AG would have had to sit 2 years whether he went on scholly or not.

Sounds like D'Andrew Walker is not a priority at DE for AU any more. LINK
quote:

Auburn is still in the mix, but they don’t call me any more,” Walker said. "I think I was Coach [Rodney] Garner’s No. 1 defensive end on the board, but I haven’t talked to him in awhile. There’s no telling what might have happened. I think he keeps in contact with my coach."

“I plan on getting back down there, seeing if we can get a better bond,” Walker said. “I plan on visiting there this summer. I won’t be in school, and it’s not too far a drive.”

Hopefully there's a misunderstanding there.

Are we anywhere are on Marqui Hawkins radar? I know Nebraska may be in play, but it seems like him being from Columbus and having visits to AU would put us ahead. He got jacked in 1 year at UF!

Really weird situation there. Apparent Wisky led but... [link=(247sports.com/Bolt/Wisconsin-out-for-Hawkins-28430614)]LINK[/link]
quote:

In a quick turn of events, Wisconsin has removed themselves from the race for Florida wide receiver transfer Marqui Hawkins according to 247sports National Analyst Ryan Bartow. The Badgers called up Hawkins Thursday night and notified him and his coaches that there were no more scholarships available and that Wisconsin would not be able to host him on an official visit or add him to the 2014 class. The Badgers made an offer to Hawkins earlier this week after Assistant Coach Thomas Brown stopped by Carver High School in Columbus, Ga., where Hawkins was a former three-star wide receiver recruit.
Hawkins has offers from East Carolina, Jacksonville State, and Coastal Carolina
We are taking at most 1 more WR and I think the staff is pretty happy about the DBs going forward so I don't see AU getting involved.

KK echoed my sentiments pretty well on Thig.

With Walker it is interesting. The article seemed like Walker was butt-hurt some. Someone brought up UGA fans ( Sup bitches?) claim he got lazy there, and that this was the reason for the lack of communication.
