Would the rotation at the 1-2-3 be almost like a carousel?
Tahj rotates from 2->1 for Canty
Lang Dunans and Brown rotates at 2/3 when Tahj is at the 1

Bruce seems big on TSD early and his leadership. He also said no one has been able to stay in front of Dunnans, which might end up leading the team in assists. I assume from drive and dish plays.

I've seen Dunnans compared to Rondo. I haven't seen any more than highlights but just reading the practice reports that does seem to fit.
A few things I haven't seen mentioned. Bowers is much quicker and a much more explosive leaper than last year. He is still making some bad decisions but they seem to be fewer and farther between. Bryce Brown just turned 17 this past July. He has an SEC body already. He is turning the ball over a bit much which is expected from a Fr but he is going to play a lot. Don't give up on Purifoy yet. UK has a player on the preseason all conference team that still hasn't been cleared so it isn't that unusual. If he doesn't at least he has gotten a month+ of practice in with the team to give him a head start on next year.

If he is ruled ineligible for this season can he still practice and travel?

No to travel. Yes to practice

Can't practice either. Just like Delph 2 years ago. On scholarship but can't be a part of any team related functions.

Here is what the SEC's non qualifier policy states. That loophole isn't closed despite what has been reported.
There also is a method for people that were non qualifiers to have a wavier submitted by AUburn in which they get athletic FINAID but are not able to practice until they meet academic qualifiactions

This lineup eases my worries of us struggling to score. It does worry me having to play Harris at the 4 though because of foul trouble. I much rather have him away from the basket on defense. If he gets in early foul trouble we'll be in trouble. Would love for Granger or Spencer to step up and be a reliable 4 so we can play Harris at 3.

Basically called him your typical juco player in so many words.

We're almost a week out from the first exhibition game!
I can't wait to see this team take the floor. Some news saying Purifoy is cleared would be great to hear in the next week.
Pearl Jam is tonight. I'm not going, but I would encourage any student to attend to show support.
It looks like we have home games on the Fridays before the the final 3 football games. I hope this means those games are packed to the rafters due to the influx of fans Friday afternoon.

From JGT and based on this Danjel should not play til cleared IMO
quote:
The score (ACT) is being reviewed.
If Auburn chooses to certify him and play him and then the score comes back a dud, well, someone will be losing their job. Auburn would have to forfeit any wins for using an ineligible player. Auburn needs an answer from ACT before certifying Purifoy and allowing him to play. So he's basically in purgatory right now.

Mre from JGT LINK
quote:
He's eligible right now, hence him participating in practice and everything. His ACT score, based on a test he took during the summer, was good enough to gain academic clearance. However, the ACT, the actual organization, called the score into question based on what's most easily described as anecdotal evidence. So ACT is reviewing the case and, at some point, will either allow the score to stand or will disregard the score.
Long story short: If the score doesn't stand, then Purifoy probably won't be playing this season and it'll be up to the NCAA as to whether he can practice, receive aid, etc. If the score stands, he's Gucci.
If the test score is thrown out, it's not clear what happens next. Something similar happened few years ago with Ronald Delph, if you all remember him, and he was allowed to receive aid but not practice. It's all up to the NCAA.
So Purifoy's delay actually is on the ACT folks. Purifoy is eligible with the NCAA right now based on all available information.

Thanks E for posting as I was writing my explanation.
The ACT has a "Score Inquiry" process which can trigger investigations. Essentially, someone tells the ACT "Hey this person's score seems unusually high based on xyz, I want to validate that this is accurate." The ACT may then investigate the score
Examples of what the ACT form asks for

Derrick Rose had the same issue and Memphis forfeited their 38 win season.
Auburn had Ronald Delph apply and receive a waiver in which Delph was allowed to receive financial aid and become qualified through proving Academic success at AU. I don't believe he was eligible for practice
