So you are saying we are the fall back plan for Williams.

Tre Williams to Auburn. Zach Whitley took his spot.Apparently, this is the word on BOL.
Why am I not suprised?

Derrick Moncrief committed. Will be made public later.

I don't read the Tre Williams thing as us being his backup plan. I think Bama took Whitley's commitment because they know they are not getting anything from Mobile while Craig is here. Tre's top 2 were us and Bama. Bama sped up the inevitable and eliminated themselves by taking Whitley so Tre and his family figured why the hell wait any longer.

Who gives a shite if he's a backup plan or not. We got who we wanted, and he's a damn good prospect for us.

DGAF but just funny that BOL is reporting that though

Justin Hoke, of AuburnSports.com, will be working on a live stream of the Tre' Williams announcement. He said it should be put up around 3 PM. I'll try to post a LINK whether it's premium of not.
Bodes well that he, Bryan Matthews, and Austin W. Penny will all be at the ceremony.
No surprise he will be picking Auburn.

THIS
When this recruiting cycle started lots of people circled this kid as the recruiting battle to watch. After losing out on the Hamilton sweepstakes getting Williams is a huge pull. It's awesome to see us getting back in the Mobile area where so many studs come out of

Tre Williams said he made his decision last week. So that happened, then sabahr said if you commit to AU your spot is gone. Sabahr makes good on his word and Whitley commits. Williams GAVE his spot away because he didn't want it. Point blank, period.

TIFWIW but Bryan Matthews changed his pick on Roc Thomas to Auburn today. Something smells a brewin. LINK
Here's my feel on Thomas. I REALLY love his game and think he's a perfect fit for Gus' offense, BUT I don't trust him to not flip. I'd rather get Chubb, who i think would stick.
What could be happening is that the AU coaches are saying the first person to commit to them at RB gets the offer between Chubb and Thomas. Chubb has set his date, so maybe Thomas is feeling pressure to take the offer while he's got it. The only problem, i think, is that if he commits he could always decommit. Oh well, just the game you play.

Of course Whitley took his spot.
The other option was to leave the spot unfilled

Just wanted to point out that this time next week, we'll be sitting with 6 commits from Alabama, all of them being from either Prattville or Mobile.
These times they are a-changin'

Everybody committs to Auburn now will later announce decommittment in favor of Bama by revealing matching Reuben Foster in an Alabama jersey tattos on ESPN with Selena Roberts as the MC . . . or something like that

quote:Yeah I'm not gonna lie, if Roc commits to us at any point, I won't be able to not be pumped, because he could be an absolute stud in Gus' offense. But I'm going to be very aware of the potential flip. He won't be firm until the papers are signed

if you guys can't tell by my long Roc Thomas novel, I'm mentally and emotionally scarred and i'm damaged goods...thanks to TJ Yeldon, CyKo, Calloway, Foster, Liner, etc. etc. etc.
That being said, i just have a feeling this staff don't take no mafrickin' bullshite from no kids!

Is there thought that Roc might commit to someone soon?

I agree with you on all 3 of your posts KK but the coaches can't show fear. With the RB production production is Gus's O and Bama's depth Auburn should be the play for Roc.
