Deshawn Hand has said before that he likes young and fun coaching staffs so that should bode well for us with the exception of the silver fox Ellis
According to 247, Ellis's demeanor and being an Xs and Os guy is expected to be a positive for Auburn because it is much like the coach at VT recruiting him, who appears to be Hand's favorite coach.

We offered Bossier City, LA QB Brandon Harris today. He's got Ohio St, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Arkansas offers. He said he was waiting on this offer, and that Gus is an offensive genius, and Cam is his idol and the reason he wears #1. He commits July 18th, and Auburn is the only school definitely getting a visit.

I'd love to land this kid. My new #1 target

Finally, a kid who loves Auburn, the coaches, and just genuinely wants to be here. And he's got a nice offer list

Did a quick search around other boards and most places he has gotten offers from he has had similar sentiments about.

I'd take him though. Could be another Jeremy Johnson and shoot up in the rankings too

Seems to have a strong arm and makes some pretty good reads. He just needs to tuck the ball in when he runs. Also, he's 180lb so about 20 more would be solid

A few more tidbits on Brandon Harris.

Bossier City, LA (Parkway)
Ht: 6-1.5 to 6'3 (Depending on the site) | Wt: 183 to 206 (Depending on the site)
Junior Stats: 2,673 pass yds, 26 pass TDS, 7 INTs, 667 rush yards, 12 TDs

He is a rising 3*. Harris picked up the offers from tOSU, TAMU, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Miss St AMM referred to all in the past 2 days.(4 were yesterday) The good news is he had no real leaders til the offers he picked up the last 2 days so don't read too much in the 247 crystal ball predictions til things settle down a bit for Brandon. The staff was going to wait to watch Brandon throw before offering so when Gus personally called with the offer it floored the kid. He is a student of Coach Malzahn as the kid referred to the QBs Gus developed at Tulsa. One edit from AMM's post. Brandon said if it were up to him Auburn would be a visit but his dad controls Brandon's recruitment Therefore Brandon may not have a choice on the visit or not.

I read the articles from the tOSU and TAMU side. I Could be reading with my O & B glasses on but while he said glowing things of both of them he seemed more smitten with Auburn IMO.

I can agree with this. Other programs definitely are in it for him though

Yes, I think he will be a good one. He doesn't have a rocket arm, but makes good decisions and runs the ball well.

I'm for taking him.

Some lsu fan knock Harris because of his accuracy, which is funny because they think Hayden Rettig is going too be so good.

As much as I hate to admit it he completed less than 50% of his passes (152/306)

I did notice (just from the video) that most of his throws were 15 yards+. I imagine that when you're throwing deeper that it makes it harder for the pass to be completed, especially with a CB on you.

He looks just meh to me. Not really the depth I want to have. We have plenty of wrs @ the qb position.
