wonder what turned him off to AU? We have zero LB depth, he likes the coaching staff, SEC, beautiful campus....

Money?

some campuses just don't strike home for some. I have heard people rave about Tennessee but I hated their campus when I visited.

info on possible impact of Hand picking Bama today. LINK

Kipp Adams says that .... YES .... Bama wanted Evans to play that identical spot.
What does it mean with Hand on board.
You'd have to ask Nick Saban.

Does Hand affect Lorenzo Carter? I could see Hand pushing Carter further towards UGA, which would in turn push Evans further towards us.

... but that's going too far down the rabbit hole.

Actually at this point it's logical thinking.

AUC notes LINK

-Auburn feels it's chances of getting juco Jordan Prestwood have increased. They are recruiting him at TE and he is liking that. He has trimmed down to 280 lbs.
-DE Spencer Williams, who is committed to Cincy is now a take for Auburn (my personal note here. Given Tubbs' eye for DE talent I trust Kennion and Williams would be good gets)
-4* juco DT Daniel Ross is coming in this weekend. Apparently Auburn and a number of other teams are pretty high on him. Ricky Parks is his juco teammate and coming with Ross.
-Kai Locksley of the 2015 class was offered as a QB by Auburn.
-4* RB Darrell Williams is not coming this weekend and not being recruited by Auburn

AKA not looking very good for Andrew Williams. But he should do.

It's not just him...plenty of people do it.
Not to the extent EDW does it. Not even close.

yes... he's just been there a few months, though. It's not like they've known each other for years. Hand visited in the summer, i believe... but never really showed much interest.

What ever happened with Jason Smith? Did he ever end up enrolling in Prep School or a Juco?

in my uneducated opinion, the odds are long he comes back to AU... but we'll see... he could blow up in the next 12 months.

ETA: can't find any stats on him for 2013, so he's probably redshirting... there are articles about him enrolling at MGCCC (same school as DW and Moncreif), but he's not listed on their football roster.

Actually this is a rare case where the odds are fairly good he comes back to AU. He is being redshirted at Auburn's request. They fully intend to bring Jason back.

I've heard he only needs one year correct? Jason Smith still shows up occasionally/when he can to games and recruiting events

I believe that once you enroll in a JUCO, you must graduate in order to be eligible in the eyes of the NCAA... not saying he can't graduate in one year, but I don't think that's happening.

he'll probably be a January of 2015 guy, if he ends up coming back.

If you go to juco you have to get your associate's degree before you can go to a 4 year school per NCAA rules. That usually takes 1 and a half to 2 years.
