What's the latest news with Draequon Murphy?

Not on Auburn's radar at the moment. But could be later if we offer since the plan is to take 3 safeties.

I do not know if it has been posted yet, but apparently Dalvin Cook and Leonard Fournette are both higher on Alabama's running back board. If they miss on both, they will probably turn up the heat on Racean Thomas. Until then, we should continue to have the upper-hand.

Thanks E. We should be major players with him too if we do offer cuz iirc he was the one who loved Malzahn and was commited to Arky St until he left.

Per UGA Rivals Chubb will not announce on May 28th as planned. He will visit South Carolina that day and decide soon thereafter.

Whether Bama gets him or not it's a dangerous game their playing givimg Auburn a chance to get a RB like that in Gus's offense.

I just hope he remembers who had them at the top of their board from the beginning. Who wants to be someone's 3rd option if you're as good as Roc?

Could be TJ Yeldon all over again.

Which is why I think Bama will/will try to take him in the end.

It will all boil down this.....IMO

Roc puts his fanhood aside and sees what Bama did with Dee Hart (aka non bruiser back) and picks AU based on the best system/fit for him.

Or

He is playing the Yeldon game and all he smells is Sabans golden cock, ready to jump at the first chance he gets to commit.

Btw- Not saying the Roc recruitment and Yeldon are the same. I think it could be a possible combo of Yeldon & Hart.

Dashaun Watson just straight up lied. Can't blame the kid given all the pressure he is feeling.

This is apparently from one of the OSU 247 mods:
quote:

As noted last night, I did speak to Mr. Watson yesterday while Deshaun was visiting with Auburn. We exchanged texts later in the day as well, and he indicated that the visit was tremendous. After speaking to the same people again today, I am willing to say that Clemson may be out of this one. They are not happy about this visit at all. This was not a "hang out with a friend" type of thing - this was a business trip. Deshaun spent A LOT of time with the staff, and they really hit it off. His desire to play in the SEC is putting his recruitment into a tailspin.

We will have to wait and see if he ever makes it to Columbus, but my guess is that it won't happen. He may try to keep it on the DL via Twitter and whatnot, but he is absolutely enamored with Auburn and their coaches. My guess is that this kid ends up at Auburn -and, as of this evening, his family seems to feel the same way."

Excellent news for the Auburn staff and recruiting fanatics out there.

My question is: Assuming all of this is true, if he is so enamored with playing in the SEC, does Georgia give us a run at him? One would think Auburn would have the advantage after beating Clemson out due to the offense, but he is from the state of Georgia.

The Bunker. Someone reposted a post from Clemson's site and said that excerpt of it was from the 247 Buckeye mods

I was thinking about this too. I think our offense gives us an advantage, and if the above post is true, his relationship with our coaches would be an advantage as well. Also, Murray graduates this year, but then they have Hutson Mason, Christian LeMay, Faton Bauta, and Brice Ramsey, so they aren't exactly in huge need of a QB

Some of their fans think they do but I have not seen anything to support their optimism.

That just depends on what "the other day" is taken to be referring to
