A few more notes on the Jesse Jackson offer from Auburn
He's a 4* on the composite rankings
Petal, MS (Petal)
Ht: 6-2 | Wt: 195 | 40: 4.55
Lead recruiter: Melvin Smith
Per BM, Jackson wants to hold off on a decision til December or January.
Hudl Highluights
As for the Rivals versus 247 discussion there is no doubt JGT is a much better writer than Marshall. Outside of that Rivals has no real advantage to me. Justin and Bryan are about equal in terms of writing. I have met both in perso on campus and Bryan seems a bit friendlier. If he has a couple minutes he easy to talk to about recruiting. As a network 247 is much better on the recruiting front. The one thing that bothers me about Rivals is they will split something up over a few weeks while AUC will put the whole video out on the day an interview was done. What stands out to me here is Ellis Johnson's last presser. Rivals split it up over a 3 week segment while as soon as was ready AUC posted all of it the day the presser was done.

Not Melvin Smith?
Lot of Ole Miss people say Melvin Smith was the key to the Delta region of Mississippi region. I haven't heard a peep out of him recruiting wise and he isn't even lead recruiter on some MS recruits like jackson

Great point. Petal is right by Hattiesburg which is supposed to be in Coach Smith's territory...Smith is the secondary recruiter on Moncrief

Sub 200 lbs and runs a 4.55 - on HS stopwatches? Not to go overly brannigan here, but that doesn't sound like a good thing...

6'2" 195 as a Jr Wide receiver is not a good thing?
Posted on 5/18/13 at 11:41 am to RockyMtnTigerWDE
I mean that's receiver-sized. I was more hung up on the 40 time (and assuming that it's actually slower than reported). Also kinda forgot that these are Jrs.

FWIW, Jason Smith walked at his graduation.
Don't know if that matters or not regarding him qualifying at Auburn.

I understand, but WR's don't need high end speed as much as they need great route running and the ability to cause some separation. Jerry Rice was reported to have run between a 4.6- 4.71 40 going into the pro's(disputes on what his time really was, but reports all show 4.6-4.7). His size was 6'2" 200. Not even suggesting kid is Jerry Rice, but Rice is the pinnacle of WR's to compare all others by.

Somebody always got to play the Rice card.

Do you have a problem with it? He will always be used when looking at speed and size of WR's. DWI
