I don't think Coleman sees much playing time this year. When reporters asked about him Chizik restated that he has a long way to go and that all of the positions are interchangeable and that it would depend on what the rotation would look like to determine who would go in for who. To me, that means that Coleman probably isn't going to be asked for much this year which makes sense. He still really does have a long way to go and I think this is one time that really isn't coach speak.

Anyways, it's as good of a line as we could hope for considering Dismukes. I think when he returns that it's possible that Slade could be replaced by Kozan or Westerman. We'll see

I guess I should've been more clear when I said "down the road" in that I meant probably not this season, and by contribute immediately, I meant when he made that move

frickin' internet.

We wouldn't take Young out of the starting OL first off.

When Dismukes gets back the only thing that will change is who is starting at C.

Sullen on Avery Young:

quote:

Senior guard John Sullen was asked after Sunday's practice about a true freshman playing a big position in a big game. And he laughed.
"You show me who plays like a true freshman," Sullen said, "and let me know."
Long before he was named the starter, Young said he knew he'd made the right decision when he signed with Auburn.
"It has been a great experience,” Young said. “It is everything I expected. “It is everything I was told it would be.”
Sullen said Young, 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds, made it clear from the outset that he had come to compete for a job. Jaw-dropping athleticism moved him quickly to the front of the line in one of the nation's top offensive line classes.

For everyone who wants Derrick Green highlights Ellitor from AUFamily asked me to post this

This is for all the guys on TD who are wanting Green highlights. Tell them the full replay is available on espn3.com. Filter by football, replay, and August 25th and they should find it. Have a good night man.

Dismukes coming back shouldn't change the line unless Slade and Sullen are only playing guard to make sure the freshman on both sides of them are aligning right. So we'll see, but I think when Reese gets back from the suspension he will just take over for Tunde.

I still just can't believe Westerman isn't putting it together. I know he has to have been working his arse off in the weight room because of how much bigger/stornger he looks and anyone who has seen him from day 1 to now can vouch for the transformation. He just needs to start putting it all together

On a positive note I am glad to see Avery Young playing. Next year having a line of

LT- Greg Robinson
LG- Westerman/Kozan
C- Reese Dismukes
RG- Chad Slade
RT- Avery Young

The only position that wouldn't be returning starters and potential preseason all-SEC would be LG

That is fap worthy

Just realized that outside of LG for the OLine, our entire two deep for OLine and DLine will be returning for 2013 unless Corey/someone else leaves for the NFL

Also if TBell isn't starting, outside of Darren Bates, every returner on defense is starting and so is the majority of the 2deep

I just can't wait until 2013. It is going to be dirty

He's obviously sending a message to his team for the long term. After all, it hasn't been the rosiest of offseasons for the Tigers. Props to Chizik for taking a strong stand. It takes guts to put your best offensive lineman on the bench for an opener as pivotal as this one. "

I know it man, this last week is always the hardest.

As a service for my Auburn brethren I will now guide you on how to pronounce our new center's name.

Tunde (Toon-day) Fariyike (sp?) (Fair-e-yah-key) basically the last name rhymes with teriyaki.

That comes courtesy of @aublog on twitter, I believe.

Over\Under on how bad his name gets butchered on Saturday? Per Gnar let's set this at 5 times lol.

Well you have to set a number on an over under I believe

But seeing as how I had no idea to pronounce his name I'd set the over under at 7? And go under.... I hope

However, this line is incredibly talented, much like the 07 line class was (Pugh, Ziemba, Ramsey, etc). I don't know if Tunde is as talented as Reese is, but at the same time, he is incredibly smart (when asked about learning blocking assignments and such he said "I'm not gonna say it was easy, but it wasn't hard for me"). I think he will be a pleasant surprise, especially for someone who everyone said "who?" when he signed with us.

I agree. I don't think the kid will have any problem with the mental/smarts part of playing the position. Now the physical? We shall see. One saving grace with the young OL this year as opposed to the young OL last year... an extra OL called JUGGERNAUT.

quote:

Robinson and Young both have the size to be dominate tackles

My apologies for this in advance, but...

Robinson and Young have the size to be DOMINANT.

They have the size to DOMINATE their competition.

Sorry 'bout that.

Is Sullen that much better than Slade? I always thought Slade would probably stay in at G if Young was at RT and Kozan or Westerman would take Sullens place. He looked pretty good toward the end of the year, especially in the bowl. I know it's just Va, but it was still nice to see.

If Tunde comes in and does well, Dismukes could be setting for a while.
