They don't have updates like rivals. If they're are impressed with somebody they'll will bump him up without a full update of all the rankings.

Absolutely not. This has gone far enough.

Another point, I wish we'd recruit more guys like Jonathan Wallace. Everyone loves him. He is mature beyond his years, and he'd be a great leader.

My question is, is Chizik in the dark about it all? Why keep them around since they're doing stuff like that?

If you don't mInd my asking, what are does your friend work? I'm not doubting a word you said (exception being that none of the players are there or championships bc I know a few that are thought of as true competitors). In fact, I've said most everything you are saying, but it gets discounted bc of my fanhood, screen name, etc. interesting to see it said by a due hard AU fan (though, as you know, there are former coaches/players who have privately stated similar).

+1

Polar opposite of Zeke Pike. My dad (who knows people around a lot of programs in the state) was ecstatic when I told him we signed him and had nothing but great things to say about him. "Good head on his shoulders", "respectful", all that kind of stuff. And is clearly outperforming that 3* ranking he was given.

Playing smart with some talent is 10 times better than playing dumb with all the talent in the world.

He's not in the dark, it just seems like he has his hands tied. He's such a nice guy. It's probably another reason we kept Roof around as long as we did. I hope this isn't his eventual downfall, because I love what he's done for Auburn so far as Head Coach. I think he's a great role model.

My opinion is, we have the players now and our name is with a lot of top talent based on recent past events such as winning the NCG. Let's get some great coaches now that are also great role models for players.

In all honestly, I'd rather not reveal all of that.

Just know that I wouldn't make any of it up. My concern is really growing for Auburn's future.

He's the leader of the program. Who gives a shite if he is a nice guy? Anything that his assistants do reflects directly in him. What makes you say he is a great coach? One great year and two mediocre ones tell me there isn't enough to know either way. His job is to win, recruit players who represent auburn with class. He's not doing a great job of either here lately.

TTsTowel that sounds a wee bit reactionary.

It is pretty well known that the players had this weekend to rest and a number of them went to fraternity parties not the bars (friends of mine saw them). The majority of them were well behaved and not drinking like Keihl Frazier (turned down a beer) from what my roommates told me. Reese Dismukes has been a drunk shite show since he arrived on campus. I remember him falling onto a table in Little Italy his first spring on campus before freshman year. I am friends with a bunch of people from Spanish Fort who all say that he just has always partied hard. Honestly the only reason I am surprised that RD didn't get arrested before Pike was that Pike was just a giant chochbag

I think this quotes fits your statement a little better. Chizik, Loeffler, and Van Gorder (for sure) are all about walking the straight line and doing things right. They're strict. I think Chizik being a nice guy makes it hard for him to get rid of guy like Trooper/Luper when they've done such a great job of recruiting, and they've really given Chizik no reason to fire them. At some point, you have to point the finger at the players for doing stupid shite. They were still going out when Chizik told them to stay away from bars, etc. There's also word that players get away with a lot more around Trooper/Luper, and they tolerate stupid shite. I think we'd fix a lot in the Auburn football program by getting some new guys in Luper/Trooper's place.

My opinion.

I think it's overboard to lay all of the blame at Chizik's feet, even though he is the Head Coach.

Agree. I mean, we're talking about football players, at an SEC school. These guys have an ego, and you'll have problems now and again. tyrann mathieu got caught smoking weed three times before he got in trouble. And the only reason Miles addressed it then was because it was a school policy. RD will be treated like Dyer, he'll get his shite right or leave.

I've expressed my thoughts on what's going on behind the scenes before. I'm still hearing the same thing. A lot of people don't like it, but I don't give a lovely mother frick (not referring to you, FWIW). It's time to keep Auburn's name out of the headlines unless it's for all the right reasons.

As I said, I've thrown out the same statements before. It's getting worse with every off-the-field issue that happens (which seems to be every week). BTW, I'm not the one saying fire Chizik. I'm the one saying get rid of our dirty coaches, and hire some that are great role models as well as great coaches.

I know the question wasn't directed at me, but I'll answer as it is exactly the question I've asked someone who was on bowden's staff that still has connections throughout college football. His answer (paraphrased) "how would you explain the firing? You have to get him another job of equal stature and pay and hope he wants the job. Problem is, the reputation is known and it's hard to "pass the trash" under those circumstances"

That was only about one specific member of the staff that TTs was talking about. I can confirm everything TTs said about that particular coach and then some. Can't confirm what was said about Luper, though his reputation isn't nearly as bad in coaching circles as the other guy's is.
