Bowers and Smith are the two and are both already listed as 4 stars

Yep. I'm seeing it now. I went to rivals about 5 minutes ago and only Bowers was showing on our front page, Smith shows on the expanded list. Rivals has always been pretty bad about their updates not being done at the same time it seems. It seems like they'd have it set up now so that once a change has been made, it's system wide, and Auburn Sports doesn't have to manually update it, which seems to be what happens.

then add in two more 5* in Adams and Green or Bryant and potentially Matthews, and we are a top 3 lock.

Green, Adams, and Matthews will sign with us, I could see us pushing Meechigan for the 2nd spot. Not sure if anyone can catch USC at this point.

Keep the name "Mackensie Alexander" in mind

ETA: Forgot to finish a thought.

For Auburn? Do we need another CB in this class? I still think Sills might end up a FS like Whitehead, so another CB makes sense.

Seems like he's visited every school in the southeast besides us. I'm a bit skeptical

Scout gave Earnest Robinson his 4th star

So is he on the verge of being a 5* with a great season? His bump put him up 6.0 4*

Farrell on Bower:

quote:

Bower was another who has had less-than-impressive performances during the course of his high school career, but finished the summer strong and earns his fourth star.

"Bower had to prove to us he wanted to get better," Farrell said. "His game film was never great but he flashes tremendous potential.

"After avoiding contact and going through the motions at the Baltimore NIKE Camp, he looked like he just didn't care. At The Opening he wasn't dominant, but he worked hard and once again showed those flashes, especially when he took to the coaching. His ceiling is very high, he just needs to show consistent effort."

Farrell on Smith:

quote:

Another speedster making his debut as a four-star prospect in this update is Mobile (Ala.) McGill Toolen athlete Jason Smith.

"Smith is one of the fastest and most athletic players in the state of Alabama and can play so many different positions that we felt he was going to be a contributor no matter what ? sort of a can't miss kid because of his speed," Farrell said.

Well, in fairness, this is relevent when comparing to LSU's 22 commits (5 more than AU) or UGA's 28 commits (11 more than AU). However, Bama and Florida both only have 1 more commit than AU. Not like a DRASTIC difference there.

Clearly you're counting fails even when not trying to count your national championships.

It is completely applicable that we have less commits as the difference of one recruit that is a 4 star would leap frog us over Alabama.

Even if we only had another 3 star commit, the fact that we have two 2 star commits at special teams in a K&P has a significant effect on our ranking. Those two combined do not even equal some of our 3 stars in points. So for the purpose of judging, we might as well have 15 commits compared to Bama's 18.

GFY and get out of our thread

Don't some of the recruiting sites average the team rankings so the total number of recruits doesn't matter?

hey Bamasgot9, when we get Derrick Green, you will be looking up at Auburn in the recruiting rankings.

Rivals takes the top 20 if I am not mistaken and due to most schools signing 22-25 it effectively eliminates Kickers Punters and Zeke Pikes
