Yea this is scaring me. This dude is 265 he needs to gain 30-40 pounds. Easily a redshirt.

that is a major fall if we get to him from Liner.

Its not that big a fall. This kid was committed to Purdue and now Penn State and has other legitimate D1 offers (Georgia Tech, Vandy, UNC). He also plays 6A ball, so we're not talking about a small-level private school kid.

This late in the game with a brand new staff, you're not going to be pulling "Liner-caliber" players out of nowhere to replace a kid like Liner. Most kids are either already committed or have long-developed relationships with the schools and coaching staffs that are waiting on their commitments.

We've taken a lot lower-profile fallback kids in the past few years than this kid appears to be.

Auburn offered 3 star DT Parker Cothren yesterday via 247 profile Highlights

Is there something wrong Deadin Senat? I mean if we're in the market for a high school DT.

a thread on the recruiting board got me thinking, what's the latest on MacKensie Alexander? Has that ship sailed from Auburn? He mentioned that he wanted to play with his brother who is a solid safety prospect and we have offered about 4 safeties since that time.

Whats the problem with that? Auburn doesn't graduate a single DL this year who actually played. We have young players at that position and we have recruited talent at the position. We're also bringing in a JUCO DT that will play immediately, and are actively recruiting another one (Hardison).

We dont need every DL we sign to be an immediate playing time player. What we need is for Garner and the new coaching staff to coach the numerous young, "talented" (according to recruiting rankings) defensive linemen that we already have on the roster.

If he's actually 6'5 he should fill that out easily.

And like I said, whats wrong with him being a project? This staff's job will be to make something out of the top-rated players already on the roster which the previous staff could not. We've got players already here who are freshmen/sophomores, and we're also bringing in JUCO players that will push said players already here. We dont need every HS recruit on the DL from this class to be an immediate contributor.

Both UT and Vandy have offered. Hazel Green is closer to both of those two than auburn. This dude isn't exactly a slam dunk.

Someone said it in the Adams/Lawson thread on the RB and I looked on Rivals and it does have an official set up for him on the 1st. Last weekend with Lawson coming in that same weekend.

Anybody else like twitter on gamedays? The writers pretty much say everything they are thinking about during the game. A lot of them are pretty funny as well as interesting. Especially if you are on the road driving to the AU game in the morning, like I am a lot, and you want updates on the early games, it's a great way to get updates with some input into it. I have my son, who is a bigger CFB fan than I am, to read me the updates.

ETA: Sorry about going off topic. Just saw the twitter conversation and thought I'd but in.
