I wouldn't bet on Green. I bet we end up with Jonathan Ford, the guy from New Hope, AL
He was offered by Arkansas St I can imagine he would be a guy we replace Wilkins with. Doubt we get Green especially considering we don't have a RB coach
JHoke just said the two decommits he expects are two guys we aren't recruiting too hard (from what he can tell) to stick around.
With that said don't think it is Bowers considering Gus flew to NJ to visit him

Anybody got a list of the state's top recruits this year?

FYI, it might be a good idea to just check our class out in early Feb. Could be a rough month and a half.

I get the feeling we are about to pick up a lot of talented underrated kids like Zach Cunningham, De'Runnya Wilson and so on.
This class could be pretty dirty assuming we pick up the raw athletic freaks that just don't have the stars

Thanks. So the Ford kid is the best RB in the state this year? If our class sticks, looks like we will have held our own in state.

If we can hold the class, get Foster back and pick up a few more kids we will have a top 10 class. Only reason it isn't right now is because we have 2 K/P and haven't maxed out the 20 spots to get full points in the rankings

What's the story on Cunningham? I saw where we finally offered Wilson.

I like that size. Plenty of frame to add weight on. Anyone know his 40 time? Did he play in the all star game?

The other sites do it purely off quality of all your commits then?
Also, having the kicker and punter on any site will hurt us

Not sure how ESPN does it but Scout uses the top 25 while giving each of the 25 equal weight. 247 uses a scale in which the top recruits in each class are given much more considerable weight.

The argument that in terms of team rankings we are at a drastic disadvantage due to low number of current commits is valid though right?
Say we got RF back and 6 3 stars all else equal, we would jump up a good bit in the rankings on all the sites to probably top 10?

2014 four star safety Dylan Sumner-Gardner will wait and see who Clemson hires as their new DB coach, and then make a decision in January whether he will flip to AU or stick with Clemson.
Posted on 12/17/12 at 11:44 pm to AMM AU9893
He calls Clemson his "dream school" but considering AU is basically the same school (minus a lake) (can he swim?)(my friend from TX can't swim serious question and lake wouldn't matter then) that statement doesn't hold a lot of weight
Also an OV next year can always change things. Whatever his "decision" I'd imagine it will be pushed to the limit by us till NSD

quote:There are too many variables to project the other sites but Rivals is pretty cut and dry now. Factoring in getting Reuben back, likely losing Wilkins and Jackson, and picking up nine 5.7 three star recruits would give Auburn a total of 2488. That would put Auburn 7th right now and likely in the top 10-12 on NSD.

People need to stop getting their jimmies bunched up over this class. If your numbers put us in the top 10 after a coaching change, that is pretty darn good. Especially since that is assuming only 3 stars and no four stars (or bumps) come in

Star watching under Chiz didn't get us shite.

No it did not. But fighting ole miss and southern miss for the uat, lsu and uga leftovers did not work either (after saban got to uat.)
I am going to give Gus a complete pass in recruiting this year as I hope for the best nearing signing day.
To compete with teams which get stars and develope them into NFL players then Auburn needs to get stars and develope them into NFL players.
