I imagine both trooper and Luper will stay now that Gus is here.
So we are going to stick with the whole recruiters instead of coaches philosophy? Sounds good.

Malzahn's had at least one 1,000 yard rusher in his last four seasons... tate, Cam, dyer, and now Oku... he should be able to sell the running game.

David Oku?
Yeah. Imagine if Dyer had stayed there.

yep... he made david oku into a decent running back... something Lane Kiffin and Dooley/Chainey couldn't do at UT.
I'm not saying GM is a home run hire or anything, but the guy can put up offensive numbers and recruit the hell out of some offensive talent.
defense is another thing all together.

“I think it’s great," said five-star inside linebacker Reuben Foster of Auburn (Ala.), the highest-ranked Tigers commit. "I don’t know him but I’m looking forward to meeting him and building a relationship with him. I’m definitely still committed to Auburn.”

Foster and Toney, with McKinzy with three years left.... we might be alright at LB in the future.
No DTs is worrisome, though... Liner is all but gone, in all probability.

Jeremy Johnson is officially not going anywhere.

Hoke spoke with Rivals100 OG and USC commit Khaliel Rodgers. Like he said on last week's Hot Board, Rodgers likes Malzahn and his offense, and Rodgers confirmed to him this afternoon that he will strongly consider taking a visit back to Auburn now that Malzahn was hired.
He said he will try and catch up with Rodgers later this evening.

Wait so if can flip you we will never have to see Chad Slade or Jake Holland again with this recruiting class? That's the bees fricking knees

What if any big time Arkansas kids will Malzahn pick up this year? I read next year is a big year for in-state talent in Arkansas.

Another five-star commit, defensive tackle Dee Liner of Muscle Shoals (Ala.), also took the hire as being a positive for the Tigers.
“I was really shocked about who they got but I’m very happy now," Liner said. "I can’t remember him very well but from what I’m hearing from the players he’s supposed to be a very good coach."
Liner said he remains firmly committed to Auburn.
“Oh yea, I’m committed," he said. "War Eagle!

“Right now, I am still committed to Auburn,” Foster said. “If Trooper Taylor stays at Auburn, I am all in. If he goes, I will see where he goes too. I just need to see where he ends up. If he goes to another school, I will go there. Hopefully that school will want me too because I would love to follow him.”

Auburn's third five-star commit, defensive end Carl Lawson of Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton, wasn't sure what to think about the hire.
"I don't have much information on him to tell you the truth," Lawson said.
Lawson, who plans to do some research on the coach, said he understood the need for Auburn to "get someone the fans are familiar with" but added, "at the same time it won't be good if it doesn't turn out good."
Asked how firm he was to the Tigers, Lawson replied, "I'm not gonna comment on that one."

This is one of the stupidest blind loyalty things I have ever seen. I have doubts that he will be able to learn the defense if he is dumb enough to make these comments
