I'm really intrigued to see how well we play tomorrow in a difficult environment under tough circumstances.
We've don't need to win but it's crucial for us to be competitive and build momentum heading to Hawaii.

Only saving grace is that Xavier is a small private school with ~60% out of state students and this Auburn game isn't a "big game" by their standards.
With students out of town, an alumni network that isnt as local and everything it may not be as hostile as normal.
Then again we did beat then so people may want this bad

So I'm just getting out of football mode and gonna try to get into basketball mode. Based on results so far I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up for this to be the year we get back to the tournament?

I mean losing to MTSU doesn't really give me a lot of reason to have confidence.

We have yet to throw a backwards pass in like 7 games. There's a start.

Considering UNC lost to an average Northern Iowa team at home, yep. But to whoever said Xavier won't be pumped tomorrow doesn't know college basketball. Revenge game. Any big name that comes to a big mid-major, basketball school or not, will have a raucous crowd. Their fans will be there and loud. I just hope their time off + early tipoff will help us more than it hurts them. They have 6 players in double figures and can/will shoot the lights out. We'll have to play defense, which I have my doubts we can do. Either way, I'm excited. If we come out playing the defense we have so far and don't shoot well, oh boy.

It shouldn't. Xavier is a really really good team and we are inconsistent as can be in a game.

Randy don't go basketball mode until after this game 
As far as the MTSU loss, it was an OT loss in Nashville to a team that is 8-2 RPI top 75. They aren't horrible

I guess I expect too much but I was hoping such a big time coach would have us past the point of losing and struggling to teams like MTSU in year 2.

So wtf were we so excited about when we hired Pearl? If it's too much to expect to beat the MTSUs of the world or make an NCAA tournament why waste all that money on him? And don't give me a long term plan because we all know if he has any success here he's not going to be here long term.
