What are you even arguing? We are 115th in passing, there is no way to spin that.

*****Through three quarters of the season.******

We were also 90th in offensive points per game last year.
69th this year.

And Freeze doesnt even have his guys yet.

Freeze has a very experienced QB he brought in and an Ashford with a year of experience under his belt. As you have pointed out we didnt even pretend to try and develop a passing game last year and we still have zero improvement on that area? With better coaches, players, and schemes (according to you) how is that possible?

I was a Thorne hater before he took the first snap for Auburn. Nice try.

Just to get this straight, you are dismissing real progress 69th in points per game from 90th because you are hung up on yards stats.

We ranked 118th in passing yards per game last year. We obviously wont do much better this year, but we will do better in all metrics by the end of the year. Having a bad QB doesnt help but then again, he was like our 5th option in the portal.

I don't even know why the schemes are even debatable. Why don't you just come out and say Caddy's backyard ball is better than Freeze's spread option scheme that he has done throughout his career that has attracted so much NFL talent.

We are currently averaging 23.1 points per game with a brand new scheme, coaching staff, and players at numerous critical positions on the offense. We rank 75th in that regard and I expect this year to be Freeze's worst on the plains. We also have a few more scoring opportunities ahead of us.

Last year we ranked 82nd and 22 ppg. Coaches were not worried about coaching up a team. Backyard ball to score and individual stat efforts were great.

Apples and oranges

I'm saying there has not been offensive improvement and every metric shows it and all of our eyes can see it

You didnt just read where we score more points per game? Your metric of 9 games versus 12 games is pretty dumb too.

Randy, come join me as I invoke the rule of 7-6 Nick Saban 2007 for our offense. Stop judging our team based on the first year when our offense has been a disgrace to the forward pass for years. As long as Freeze is landing high octane offensive recruits 2007 Saban is invoked.

You acting like 9 games is an inadequate sample size is interesting. As is touting a 1 ppg increase wben our schedule has been easier, our kicker hasnt missed, and our defense has created numerous turnovers.

Again, I am not talking about the future. I am only comparing this year to last. If your argument is we could do just as well running backyard ball vs the schemes our multi million dollar coach is paid to implement, I think that says it all.

If we had the #1 class you would have a point. We have one potential diffefence maker on offense committed and are bottom half of the SEC

Its apples to oranges to last season's schedule. You called Ole Miss' defense shitty arky is worse plus we have another rent a win.

1. Scheme isnt familiar to prior Auburn offenses; it takes time to implement.
2.Freeze did a recruiting class while his moving boxes were still packed. There is no way I'm worried about this season. Ashford ball nor the two QB offense is what we are doing going forward.
3, Hope> no hope. Caddy ball represents no hope.

We Wouldnt have that one if not for Hugh's success in the passing game.

We are a touchdown better on defense this season compared to last season and some of that is because we have sacrificed offensive production to cover depth issues on defense.

At least we have an offensive minded coach that understands the need for good defense. I bet USC wishes Riley understood that

hate to point out the fact that NMSU will likely be 8-3 coming into J-H in a couple of weeks

and that their last game of 2022 went like this

Maybe, but it's more so down to our schedule

Auburn on schedule

I predicted 6-6 floor, 9-3 ceiling for this year, with 6-6 being more likely than 9-3. I think most fans predicted similar.

I really thought we would win one between A&M, LSU, and Ole Miss.

However I really thought our offense would be better than it is and our defense would be worse than it has been.

I did expect our defense to be less dominant, but I expected the turnovers and the sacks as they characterized his Liberty teams. The forcing turnovers part has not disappointed.

Something like that can help the offense in more ways than total yardage.

I was not willing to guess 9-3 ( I actually betted against it) but 7 or 8 wins seemed about right.

If I am not mistaken our 2022 schedule started out and maybe finished with the number one toughest schedule in the nation. That is always a tough comp. According to the same ranking, ESPN FPI, Auburn has the fifth toughest schedule this year..

NMSU could be 11-0 coming into our game with them and won’t beat this Auburn team.
