What's wrong with the staff?
Nothing is wrong with the staff if you like bottom of the SEC recruiting. Slow in game adjustments. Turmoil of firing a WR coach. Lost the only test so far this season. What improvements have been made after 8 months? I don't see many if any. Defense is much much worse. Offense seems a little more simplistic then more complex. Route tree is probably better.
With all that said I like the big talk from Harsin and glad he got his guy in if that's what he wanted. Corn wasn't cutting it evidenced by the WR rotation and the not enough men on the field often. This is a put up or shut league. Sounds great to talk tough and coach hard but if you don't find success you can lose a team quickly that way. ANNNNDDDDD if you can't follow up success or failure with talent then you are dead in this conference. I'll play nice and give '22 away both in season and recruiting but beyond that it's go time. We already have a tough road to go with 2 below standard recruiting classes. (yes i know this class isn't done)

I think the polar opposite. For better or worse Gus ran a system - seemingly for every offensive position - where you could come in and execute it after one fall camp. No OL blocking/protection shifts, No QB audibles, no WR route choices/adjustments, no RB protection checks, and a meh strength and conditioning program.
Now, we do what most other programs do with our OL, QB, WR, RB responsibilities, after not doing any of those things for 8 years. I'm not happy with the growing pains but no one, including me, will be complaining if we can get a win on Saturday.
Also, let's judge this staff's ability to recruit after the two signing dates.

You can sure spot the people in this thread that were always satisfied with Gus’s finishes either at or just outside the bottom of the top 25 and the subsequent expected bowl loss as long as we “recruited well”,

I've said multiple times it was time for Gus to go even though I supported him while he was here. My statements generally didn't have anything to do with Gus.
If you don't like my opinion on how things have gone so far this season then don't read them.
You know who our next 5 games are against. We won't be favored in any of them unless more injuries affects other teams. So give me a prediction on the next 5 games what's the record?
If we don't win this weekend we might not win a game until possibly South Carolina and at that point one of the 2 teams could possibly be so shitty that neither care who wins or loses.

Well...
... that Ole Miss game might tough, they'll be stout after this week, the rest we sweep.

All I'm saying is demote the guy, give him some more training, or coaching. Since he had his old coach as an analyst this would have been easy to do and then tell the guy to find something at the end of the season.
What if your assistant coach verbally insulted and cussed the head coach in front of another assistant, a female staff support person, and the offensive coordinator?
What then?
Do you still do the same thing? Demote him to an off field position where he will remain in the building and talk negatively about you behind your back?
Or do you tell him to pack his bags and show the rest of your coaching staff that you are in charge and will accept disagreements but will not accept being belittled in public?
Just curious if that “hypothetical scenario” would change your mind?

i would love to know your sources as an insider on aufam said there was no confrontation he was just fired for doing a bad job. and for the record it was said this happened on the sideline when harsin was getting in corns arse for wr spacing and not having enough receivers on the field. i am not calling you a liar because it seems true and could have happened but i would just like more info because i took the same position as you and was shot down.

Never said I had sources. Not saying I don’t have sources either.
We are all drawing conclusions based on an agreed consensus of what happened between the coaches. But what if, we don’t know all the details of the day?
What if the situation was more tense than we thought and Harsin acted appropriately? What if he has been close lipped since in an effort to not undermine a young coach’s ability to get another job?
Like I said, consider it all hypothetical.

This is just not true.

Im pretty sure 24/7 confirmed the firing happened Sunday morning.
Don't you think it would be a much bigger story and leak out if Harsin had such an outburst on the sidelines? A coach being fired mid game on the side line would be big news for the likes of ESPN

Ahh okay.
Yeah, I doubt he was fired during the game. That’s just juicy soap opera message board material.

I rewatched the game last night....
Our offensive line was absolutely atrocious in every facet. They got pushed around all day by what should be inferior talent.
Our RB's were very, very bad at picking up blitzes.
Bo was middle school, head scratchingly inaccurate on at least 3 throws.
WR's had the substitution issues, numerous drops, at least two false start penalties, and I'm highly confident they ran the wrong routes or at the very least missed an audible. Traaaaaaaash.
