Yea and both suck way more than Kirk cousins

It’s dumb singing a good QB who is going to be joining a very good roster? Hell, the falcons have even built a decent defense.

In 2021 Russell Wilson had a better QBR than Cousins. As a rookie in 2022 Justin Fields had a better QBR than Cousins. Both are more mobile. Cousins tore his achilles, so really you dont know what he is going to look like coming into 2024. What I do know is they gave 180 million to Cousins for 3 years and the Steelers got Wilson for 1 year at the veterans minimum of 1.21 million. They got Fields for a 6th round possibly 4th round and owe him 3.2 million next year. So together they only count 4.5 million against the cap next year while Cousins cap hit is 25 million. Like I said a dumb arse move. Hell even Heinicke cap hit is twice what Wilson and Fields are together. So would you rather have a 4.5 million cap hit with 24 year old Fields and veteran Wilson for a year or 34 million for Cousins and Heinicke?

Fields is awful. There's a reason why he got traded for a conditional 2025 6th round pick. Wilson is quickly declining and he is a locker room cancer.

Cousins won’t win anything in Atlanta, but it’s a par for the course move from a franchise with shite for brains for a front office. Maybe we will draft some players from the MAC in the first few rounds because we are so much smarter then everyone else.

Season ticket sales are probably taking a hit, and signing cousins was a desperation move to move the needle, which clearly it’s working around here. I equate this signing to the Thrashers signing Ron Hansey to an overly inflated contract when they couldn’t get anyone else.

I'm bookmarking your post. Something tells me that this will age poorly.

And as a Steelers fan I'm pissed. I'm in the minority, though.

Wilson is washed, and Fields sucks.

You're really gonna look foolish on this come December.

Not even remotely close. Fields as a rookie on a team with terrible coaching and very little to no offensive talent had a better qbr than Cousins. I would also still have 2 qbs I can let battle it out for starters and 33 million in cap space the fact they are paying Heincke twice as much as Wilson and Fields together should scream dumbasses running this show. With that kind of cap space you wouldn't be settling on Mooney as a 2 and you could get a legit pass rusher and still have all your good picks left I'll will be right about this just like I was about Watson.

With that kind of cap room the could sign Leonard Floyd, Chase Young, Tee Higgins and Mecole Hardman and still have all their picks.

Cousins and Heincke vs Fields and Wilson is one thing.

Cousins and Heincke vs Fields and Wilson and $33m is quite another.

They will make the playoffs and wash out in the first round, so I’d rather have Fields and Wilson and see what happens.

And I would have liked to see cousins go to a good franchise.

I'm a Steelers fan and this is gonna backfire on them big-time. They have a guy in Wilson who's washed, as well as a "ME" guy, and a guy in Fields who can't play.

You have to pay to play, brother. People acting like this is some kind of crippling contract are just looking at the money amount. It's essentially a two-year deal with $10 MIL guaranteed in year 3 so it'll be easier to cut bait if it comes.to that and a dummy fourth year. They have wiggle room.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the Falcons in the NFCCG in the next 2 years.

I keep hearing this.

What about Fields' poor accuracy, inability to read defenses/go through reads, and elongated delivery? Those are three things that don't improve after 3 years in the League.

He sucks.

Mooney as a 2

At best he'll be the 3. You do know the Falcons are probably going to pick a WR w/one of their day 2 picks, right?

There is no way in hell Atlanta is making the NFCCG with Cousins. Even if people do not think Fields is the answer. You get him and Wilson at 4.5 million for a year and you see what happens. Hell take those two and draft a QB with one of your first two picks or take a shot on a qb that might slide to late rounds like Milton. Either way I would take that deal and the 30 million extra cap space and go get Higgins, Hardman, Floyd and Young......all day long before I would waste 34 million in one year for Cousins and Heinicke. As of right now they still need a pass rusher, dline and wrs. Higgins instantly becomes your #1 and Hardman your speed guy. Young and Floyd make instant impacts. Currently Atlanta still has holes and they have 3 million cap space. Its the absolute gross mismanagement that keeps this team sub 500 for 7 years. Cousins tore his achilles in his plant foot, which has a lot to do with his mechanics and power. The majority of players that tear their achilles and come back are out of the nfl with in 2 years. This was a dumb move but then again its the Falcons we are talking about.

They weren’t making the NFCCG with anyone even remotely available.

The staff wanted an "elite processor."

Fields doesn't fit that criteria. Cousins does. Fields was never in the discussion.

Here,.read this. It goes into detail Cousin's departure from Minny and how Morris and his staff had him as their #1 target from the get:

Cousins was Falcons #1 target.

Ever heard of the draft?

And if you think Fields is a better QB than Cousins than you need to stop watching football.
