“No way in hell” even with a beast of an offense, a good enough D and a weak conference?

That is a bit extreme. I will just say they aren’t doing it.

We'll see. I still think our fans drastically overrate the skill players, and offensive tackle is much more of a need than the staff seems willing to admit. McGary is basically unplayable as a pass blocker and Matthews is starting to decline a bit (which is normal given his age).

Disagree.

But we are gonna see just how good(or bad) they are now that they have an actual QB throwing them the ball now.

Who said Fields is a better qb but Cousins isn't the answer either. You are giving a 180 million to a guy that won't get you a super bowl win. I would pay the 4.5 million and see what happens with Wilson and Fields and have over 30 million in cap space. I dont think Atlanta makes the playoffs and they damn sure are not making the NFCCG. Teams in the NFC that would likely beat the Falcons in the playoffs right now...Eagles, 49ers, Lions and Packers.

So let's say you make the playoffs because it's the weakest conference in the history of the NFL. The Eagles, 49ers, Lions or Packers would eliminate the Falcons first game.

Now you're moving the goalposts.

I'm gonna say this again, slowly, Fields doesn't fit the offense that Robinson is running. He's not an "elite processor", hell he can't even go through his reads. And Wilson is washed. That's the end of that discussion.

And Cousins' contract is essentially a two-year year deal with a $10 MIL hit in the 3rd year and a dummy 4th. It's not this crippling contract that you keep touting.

Brah the Falcons haven't made the playoffs in 6 years. Worry about getting to the playoffs and winning a game before worrying about winning it all. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Cousins will definitely break the non-playoffs streak.

Blank wants to win now. Fields sure as hell doesn't ensure that.

Bookmarked.

"Zach Wilson out of BYU. That's my guy. Sit behind Matt for a year or two then its time"
This is you in 2020
BTW....Zach is an arrogant shite show.

When talking about Atlanta trading for Jordan Love 2 years ago.
Here was your take " Not only no, but HELL NO! "
That aged really well.

And this one
"Aside from Kenny Pickett, this ain't the draft to be looking for Matt's replacement."

These are just a few of your takes over the last 2 years on the QB situation in Atlanta......so go ahead and bookmark everything.

Most of us are wrong more than we are right.

You're not proving anything except that trying to figure what QB is going to be successful/not successful is a crapshoot.
I was wrong about Wilson and Love. But I still think Kenny got a raw deal. He had the worst OC the NFL has seen in 2 decades and they kept him(Canada) a year too long. But after the way he reacted to having to compete w/Wilson it was time for him to move on.

Cousins will make you look stupid. Bookmark that

Just the fact you have been wrong so many times about players tells me that I am more likely right again. You say Wilson is washed up yet you think a QB that is older and coming off a major injury is going to turn this team around is unreal. The fact that you are ok with 180 million and a 25 million hit to the cap for him is even worse. I hope you book marked this because I did.

The bigger question is what does ATL do at 8 now? I see 3 options:

1) Draft a LB/Edge rusher
2) Draft a "#1 WR"
3) Trade down and pickup the best OLine/DLine available to your new spot and stack up another #2 or #3 rd pick.

Thoughts?

Well now that they have paid Cousins a huge contract, the only way I would take a shot at QB would be with Milton in the 5th. I think they have to go Edge unless something crazy happened and either Nabers or Odunze fell to them. Have seen some rumors the Vikings may trade 11 and 23 to move up for a QB. So maybe you show interest in JJ to make that happen. I would take 11 and 23 in a heart beat. There are 3 really good edge players so if you dont get Turner then at 11 you still may get either Verse or Chop. There will be really good WRs in the 2nd at their pick. So make the trade and go edge, cb and wr. It really would depend on whats there at 23.

A lot of the draft simulators and mock drafts, if they could swing the Vikings trade you would be looking at Arnold and Chop or Turner and Kool aid.

4. Draft Joe Alt if he's on the board or Amarius Mims if he's not. OT is a need right now even if no one wants to admit how bad the team fricked up by resigning McGary last year.

Rosegarten at 87 is interesting. 3rd round pick that people are really high and said he would probably be the 1st OT taken next year if he stayed another year.

They probably increased season ticket sales by 20%, this is obviously a desperate front office trying to hit a number.

At 8 you always take the best available player unless you need a QB who was going to go top 10 or 15 and you think he is your franchise QB. Otherwise, best available player.

Depending on what the team thinks about Terrell long term, I think a corner is in play at 8 too. If it looks like Terrell wants Jaire Alexander money, I could see them drafting his replacement here and letting him walk after his rookie deal runs out.
