Wow. A southeast bank gobbling up another southeast bank.

Surprised they're headquartering in Charlotte. I know it is a major banking hub as well, but I would think Atlanta would trump in this situation.

Yeah the companies are calling it a merger of equals, but BB&T is without a doubt the alpha dog in this deal, and tendering heavy cash.

Curious to what the new company will be called. And I agree, sucks to lose a major corporate headquarters out of ATL, although there will still be a major operations hub.

They are renaming all together. Hopefully we can get Big Dick Bank Park or something similar

Maybe even Atl > Nola Park

Coke needs to get off the sideline and step up.

Narcos Field at Coke Park would be a hell of a way for Netflix and Coke to strike up a partnership

I'd say maybe they're just not that into slapping their name onto things, but the Battery itself has the Coca-Cola Roxy, so I guess maybe they just didn't like the cost of naming rights on a stadium.

Surprised Home Depot didn't push harder during the initial bid. Their corporate HQ is literally a couple exits from the Battery.

SunTrust has been in the rumor mill for a merger for over 30 years.

I actually gave up on it happening. Especially with the naming rights for the braves.

This was written into the contact (buyout/renaming of SUntrust) so SunTrust still owns the rights to the stadium. I am sure both sides have to agree on the new name though
