Yea, they're done. This season is over already, sadly.
I don't even enjoy watching them this year.

Waiting for Steeler to declare this team isn’t done yet, they have been done since the 2nd half of last year

We sweep the Mets then lose 2/3 to the Marlins.
Jesus, this team will drive you towards alcoholism. Good lawd, they're frustrating AF.

Ozzie is unplayable, but they'll run him out for 162 games this season.

And pick up his option because he is to cheap. They will let Ozuna and Iglesias walk, pick up Ozzie and Pierce Johnson's options, and sign some mediocre bullpen pieces. This way they will be able to slash another 20 million in payroll. I wouldn't even be surprised if they trade one of Riley, Harris, and/or Murphy.

From David O'Brien:

quote:

Because they have so few players on expiring contracts and so many in-their-prime players signed beyond 2025, the Braves aren’t going to do anything severe at the deadline. What we could see them do is trade one or more from the group of DH Marcell Ozuna (though his struggles this season have likely reduced his value) and relievers Pierce Johnson and Raisel Iglesias, each in the final year of his contract. If they could get a controllable reliever, an innings-eating starter to help get through this season or a middle infield prospect back in a deal, they’d likely do it.
