He'd promptly implode with a Braves jersey on once the playoffs start.

We did a similar thing acquiring Russ Ortiz back in the day after he owned us in the '02 NLDS, I believe. He then pitched like shite for the Braves in the '03 NLDS. This is how it usually goes.

This franchise (city?) has something deeply wrong with it when it comes to the postseason.

Also, Gary Sheffield was a terror in the playoffs for the Marlins in '97, including in the NLCS against the Braves, but did jack shite as a Brave in the playoffs. Complete non-factor. So it goes.

I’m in cardiac arrest because games in the playoffs like this never go our way. I’m having a feeling and I’m not sure what it’s called, dare I say positivity...

Remember when everyone wanted AA fired b/c they wouldn't give up thr entire farm for Clevinger? Well, maybe they knew something.....

Who can forget Andres Galarraga in the '98 NLCS vs the Padres? 2 for 21 and 6 K's

Yes and that was coming off a 40+HR/120+RBI/.308 BA season.

Killed us in the series and one of the best Braves teams ever.

His first hit of that series was that titanic grand slam in Game 4. It was awfully nice of the Braves to show some urgency only after falling behind 3-0 that year. 1998 might have been the best of all of those 1990s teams.

'98 was the best followed by '93 IMO. The '98 SP can make an argument as the best 5 man rotation ever.

We'll never know what woulda happened vs an obviously great '98 Yankees team.

I never felt more confident about a World Series win that year going into the playoffs...what a let down.

Bauer seems to have figured the whole pitching out. He's certainly in his prime right now. I wouldn't sign him for more than 4 years but your looking at a true ace when he's locked in. A guy like that fronting your rotation with Fried, Soroka and Anderson could make us a real threat to win some World Series titles with our hitting.

IDK,that Yankee team was pretty dominant but woulda been an interesting matchup

Ozuna is starting to give me flashbacks to the "big cat" in '98

What is the deal with him, almost no contact so far in this series.

Him and Duval both.

We can't have these holes in our lineup if we wanna advance after this series

I was just about to say something about Duvall, what he has shown the past two games is completely unacceptable. He can’t even make contact.
