Lots of stuff to work out here especially on the side of the NHL but there seems to be a lot of smoke with Georgia getting a third chance at the NHL

They wouldn't have greenlit this if they didn't already have a potential owner in tow.

IIRC no city has ever been given a 3rd shot at one of the 4 major sports.

Always find it funny how they try to say Atlanta is a shite city especially for sports when Atlanta has hosted the Olympics and is hosting 8 World Cup games including one of the semifinal games. Only city in America besides LA to host both the summer Olympics and soon World Cup games

Yes they do, and the NHL knows it.
Just look at the success of the Braves and United. All that money the NHL has left on the table allowing incompetent ownership.

DC has. They lost the Senators twice...once to become the Minnesota Twins in 1961 and again to become the Texas Rangers in 1972. They then were allowed to get the Expos/Nationals.

LA has had the Chargers twice, the Rams twice, and the Raiders once.
