Good move IMO. Doesn’t fix everything but I like it.

It's a start. This defense still needs a ton of help with pass rush and secondary, but besides Beasley's fluke year in 2016, he's the first respectable pass rusher this team has had since John Abraham. This trade would look so much better if they were getting him to pair with someone like Dallas Turner or Jalen Carter, but Judon is a very good player.

It definitely cannot hurt given injuries but definitely a 1-2 year short term stop gap. Think he's 31 or 32.

After 28-3, I can't be broken.

That helps a ton. Even before the Hellams injury, this secondary was shaky at best on paper. Having two really good coverage safeties will hopefully allow them to cover up the inevitable mistakes at CB2 this season. Should also help Terrell a lot. He's good, but he isn't one of those corners who can erase his half of the field.

Ebikete is probably the key player for the entire team this season. If he finally plays up to his draft billing and takes advantage of the matchups he's about to get with Judon drawing attention on the other side, this could be the best pass rush we've had since the Patrick Kerney/Rod Coleman years.

I still think Kerney and Coleman was the best DE grouping we’ve had. What’s that been 20 years?

Yeah that was the 2004 team. They had 48 team sacks. Kerney and Coleman combined for more than half of them. I don't think we have had more than that since.

I love that LSU fans used to make fun of Bama fans for "living in the past" with championships, yet those same fans who cheer for the Saints bring up 2009 like it isn't 15 years ago.
