Agree to disagree.
Our front line right now is most certainly not worst in the league. As a matter of fact, their win rate is top-half of the league. It’s certainly more of a “by committee” approach, but Dorelous and Harrison and Orrohorro are improving greatly.
Only a few real misses, namely, Troy Anderson and Marlon Davidson. Horrendous.
Pitts certainly wasn’t the *best* selection with what was available, but hes had some tough circumstances. Penei Sewell should have been the pick.
But every other first after that? London, Bijan, Penix, Walker and Pearce… I like what we’ve got. Just need consistency.

The following guys were taken in rounds 2-4 over the Fontenot years:
Richie Grant, Jalon Mayfield, Darren Hall, Drew Dalman, Arnold Ebikete, Troy Andersen, Desmond Ridder, Deangelo Malone, Matthew Bergeron, Zack Harrison, Clark Phillips, Bralon Trice, Ruke (who they TRADED UP for and took over Cooper DeJean), Brandon Dorlus.
That's a pretty disappointing list compared to good teams in the league. Dalman as a 4th rounder was the best of that bunch.

Per Mike Conti, the Falcons have the #3 defense in the league and #7 offense.
Considering over half the contributors on the roster were drafted talent, I’ll give Terry his flowers. He isn’t Howie Roseman, but my gosh, he isn’t Micky Loomis.
Smile, geez.
I’ve been a board lurker a while… wish you’d be as hard on the real estate company in Cobb county for squandering John Coppolella’s rebuild.

Oh trust me, I have been. The Braves have earned more benefit of the doubt than the Falcons have, but if they do their stupid bullshite where they blame everything on injuries and run it back again, I'll rip them for it.

Here’s hoping.
Honestly, the best FO in Atlanta right now is likely the Hawks. What Onsi has done this past off-season is jaw dropping. I still can’t believe that he was able to fleece the Pelicans TWICE.
Either way. Go Dirty Birds.
I love all of my Atlanta sports teams, but there isn’t a team that sets the city ablaze when they’re winning quite like the Falcons. They need to hold up their damn end of the bargain.

Well, yes and no. Mike Conti was using Total Offense and Total Defense.
What truly matters for winning games is Scoring Offense (points scored by offense) and Scoring Defense (points allowed by defense). Most people use that metric when ranking "top" units. Although both are important to an extent.

Mostly everyone can move the ball between the 20s in the NFL. IMO, the most important stat in the entire sport is red zone TD%.
Obviously four games isn't a huge sample and it was significantly better against Washington, but the Falcons are only scoring TDs in the red zone at a 46% rate. They're allowing them at almost a 67% rate. Those are both bottom 8 numbers in the league.
For a comparison, last season's Eagles scored red zone TDs at a 73% rate and allowed them at a 36% rate.
Red zone TDs per game is another useful stat because it also accounts for how many times a team actually goes into the red zone. The Falcons this year are scoring 1.5 red zone TDs per game and allowing 1 red zone TD per game.

run it back again, I'll rip them for it.
Well get ready b/c aside from a new DH and a new starting pitcher(or two) and a back-end pen piece they are running it back.
I think Iglesias is coming back also.

I hate this team. They aren’t good and they don’t suck. I wish they were one or the other.
Even if they make the playoffs they will be out in one game.

Falcons season thread announcing Texas rangers coach. Makes sense.

I'm a bit nervous for the Falcons this week. Monday night vs. the Bills. The only saving grace is that it's not in Buffalo.

Might as well be. Penix is going to have to use silent counts. It'll be similar to that embarrassing home opener last season.

Yeah it'll be at least 50% Bills fans but probably closer to 60/40.

Welp, winning causes this effect. Winners will get more fans in away teams stadiums.
Solution?
frickING. GO. WIN!

This years falcons team is the most schizophrenia team ever. Penix not really being able to throw over the middle was a massive problem that came to light against The Panthers.
I do really really like this young salty defense though and we do have some Amazing offensive weapons. London has become an Alpha. I’d actually want to bring Pitts back now too if it’s a reasonable price

Anyone feeling good about our chances against buffalo
?
Posted on 10/12/25 at 2:16 pm to td01241
I can see a path to a win but a lot of things have to go well because I think we'll have a hard time stopping Buffalo's running game. Our own running game needs to be dominant, we need 3+ explosives in the passing game, need to go +1 or better in turnovers, and need to score touchdowns in the red zone.
