Jeff Gladney also didn't look like a cripple trying to cover Randy Moss in his only chance against an NFL WR.

Even the analysis on him when he was picked was at least half negative.
Just like how it sounds with most second rounders.

I thought Atlanta needed at least three starting caliber defensive players out of this draft. After that horrendous pick last night, they still need three starting caliber defensive players.

Hopefully the defensive line gets addressed.

I will admit I am not the fan that some of you are, but I’m about done having any emotional investment in this team.

The window is closing fast. It won’t be long until they are up there in the top 5 hoping for their next franchise QB.

If Mike Evans and Godwin can run precise routes and not just run under passes with their athleticism (because that’s Brady’s game), the Falcons will likely be in the basement in the NFC South. Maybe fighting it out with Carolina.

This. It’s not so much about Terrell, but Dimitroff’s inability to maximize our draft potential. Okudah and Henderson were the only top tier corners in the draft. Then it’s everyone else. We could’ve traded our #16 pick, possibly gaining another pick, while still selecting a solid corner late in the 1st or early 2nd round.

Many had Terrell going in the 2nd round, a few in the late 1st.

The Falcons are so frustrating. They cause me more annoyance than all of the other Atlanta teams combined.

... in the end, none of us know, not even the Falcons. We'll have to just cheer them and him on and see how the rest of the draft goes.

Sorry we all argued last night! I love my Falcon brethren all the same. We will suffer together.

All good brother. Clearly it was a polarizing pick. I’ve read articles saying we bolstered the D with the pick, to articles saying it was botched and will be Dimitroff’s last draft. Who knows, hope for the best.

Thoughts on tonight? Pick #47. We going d-lineman this round?

I would say DL but who knows. I wouldn't have ever guessed the Falcons would actually pull the trigger on Terrell. I made some jokes about it after the national title game and the combine.

My guess would be Ross Blacklock or Neville Gallimore if they're there.

Well, the mortreport rumor that started this thread was true, they wanted a CB in the 1st round and it was Terrell all along, and they nearly traded up for him.

Straight from Dimitroff’s mouth:

quote:

THOMAS DIMITROFF: “Thanks for your patience. Look, we went into this draft with a couple of needs, and our main need was at corner, and we were very excited to have an opportunity to pick A.J. Terrell at 16. We hung tough, and we entertained other opportunities to think about potentially moving up, but this was where we wanted to be. This was a player that we had targeted from the beginning of our draft preparations here, and again, very excited that he's on our team moving forward. He's going to be an important part of our defense.”

Doesn’t sound that the trade talks were necessarily for Terrell to me. Probably for Henderson.

I vote Dobbins for next pick. (Swift will be gone)

I really want edge but I don’t know what’s going to be left there.

Nobody believes a fricking word of this. How this man still has a job is beyond my comprehension. This board could collaboratively do a better job drafting. Its almost as if the guy doesn't watch college football as a fan at all. Truthfully, if I were an owner, just looking at a guy like him would indicate to me that he spends more time looking at a mirror than football film.

Oh, and did anyone hear is bullshite story's about this great technological setup they had for this? Zoom is free motherfricker.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but shouldn't your first round philosophy be to always take the best possible player available or trade down to get multiple picks in lower rounds? Common sense should tell you that if there are two first round talent defensive backs, and you get neither of them in your draft position, you trade your pick to someone who is desperate to get the next best player you don't need.

Apparently the eagles wanted to trade with us and TD said No. Unbelievable
