After getting swept by the Brewers yesterday in a 16-7 absolute arse spanking, the Braves now find themselves in 3rd place in the NL East. They're now "fighting" for a Wild Card spot.

This is my attempt to write good karma back into the internetExistanceUniverse. Dear tiny baseball Jesus, give the Braves hitting... and pitching... and heart.
Thank you dear tiny baby baseball jesus.

Marlins and Rockies are hoping for more games with the Braves as they fight to stay off the bottom.

It's unbelievable how far this team has sunk. The crazy part is that the Mets and Phillies are sucking right now too.

Kinda works for the Phillies as no one has really been decent to try and catch up with them - crazy.

Only up 2 on the Mets for the final wild card spot. Need to play a lot of good baseball and put some distance between them.

Welp, tonight the Braves start a 3 game series with the Phillies. I hate to say this is a do or die series but if we get swept, playoffs might be impossible.
If we take 2/3, I'm feeling pretty good.

Regardless, this Braves team is absolutely decimated by injuries now that we have to add Austin Riley out for 6-8 weeks.
Cmon boys - rally time!

Mets lost last night too, so the Braves have a 2.5 game lead on them for the last wild card spot now. That gap needs to keep growing.

I thought that the SD Padres and AZ D'backs were ahead of the Braves? Think the Braves are in 3rd for 2 WC spots.

That's correct. Mets are the next team behind the Braves in the wild card race. Need to stay ahead of them to stay in a playoff spot.

There are 3 wild card spots, not 2.

Jason Heyward just became available from the Dodgers

Let's see what happens here

I have seen suggestions that the team should say farewell to Laureano or Duvall to make room for him.

No matter what, what I'm watching is that record since it's been tethering close to the .500 mark at times.

Anyone who says we should get rid of Laureano to sign Heyward is too stupid to walk and chew gum at the same time.

Laureano and Merrifield have been godsends for this team when they desperately needed it. Laureano has been one of the best hitters on the team since he started playing every day and Merrifield adds desperately needed speed and OBP ability. If Ozzie isn't hitting home runs, I don't think he's a better player than Merrifield at this point. I'd love to bring both Merrifield and Laureano back next season.

We were also very lucky that Urshela happened to come available right when Riley got hurt.

Brilliant rebuttal, as usual.
