1 year, 6 million. I guess no one wanted him. He could be a bench player for that amount

Braves have done a terrible job keeping pace with the division.

Yes, the organization has focused entirely on pitching and has neglected our offense. Of course AA has to operate within a budget and the OF market pretty much sucks, but I still expect us to deal some of our excess pitching for a bat.

There's a real chance the rest of the league doesn't have high opinions of our stockpiled pitching prospects. It would truly be terrible if after the rebuild and drafting so many pitchers, all we got out of it was Mike Soroka.

Yea who knows. If can work something out with the marlins for JT that would be ideal. Flowers / McCann is not pretty. If we can get JT, I’d be cool with nick in rf.

Should be the missing piece that helps Atlanta take that next step.

I am really hoping AA has a plan here...looks like we are just being cheap as hell right now.

AJ Pollock just signed with the Dodgers. He was talked about all offseason as a possible Braves addition. Reports are 4 years $55 million.
I'm really trying to figure out where we go next.

I'm guessing a trade for either Pederson or Realmuto is happening. Kimbrel also is probably a real possibility.

I'm guessing Pederson platooning the outfield.
Still not believeing the Kimbrel chatter yet, but it feels like AA is after Realmuto.

there is also speculation that the Dodgers want Realmuto as well and would use Pederson as a mlb piece in that trade.

Well that would suck.

That would signal the Dodgers are going for the gold next year. I'm really beginning to wonder if AA is thinking we are still needing another year in 2019 before making the big run 2020. So far we haven't emptied the bank account yet. Signing Markakis and passing on Harper (doubt this was ever reality) and now passing on Pollock, tells me he'd rather conserve cash.
Still time left, but unless we sign a big time starter or get Realmuto, it'll seem like we took the conservative approach this off season, which is a little surprising since we weren't too far off from LAD, Milwaukee, CHI. Still a ways off from the American League leaders (NYY, Bos, Hou).

I don't think he's necessarily out to conserve cash. I just don't think he sees anything right now in the FA market that he feels is worth it. He just gave Donaldson the biggest season salary that we've ever signed someone to in Atlanta, so he clearly doesn't mind spending if, in his mind, it's the right piece for us. Now, fans may disagree that Donaldson is that person, but that is irrelevant.
We as fans have no clue what trade discussions are going on due to the secrecy with which AA's team works under. I think the thing we DO know is that he refuses to sign veterans to long term (more than 3 years) contracts, and I'm good with that. And in terms of trades, you have to have a willing trade partner. It's quite possible that we are dangling 3 stud pitchers in front of the Marlins and they are insistent on a top tier bat as well. Since we have very few of those, we aren't in a position to really give those up.

The Braves werent going to give Pollock money, period. I dont understand why people cant understand that.
Everyone remembers last year when Coppy was fired and banned from baseball, and we had 6-7 guys taken from the organization, plus all the sanctions? Well, our organizational depth sucks arse now below Florida. We cant sign anyone of note internationally for another year, and we already lost our 3rd round pick this season.
If we would have signed Pollock, we would have lost our second round pick as well. Fans might not think so, but that pick is very, very valuable to the organization now.
Kimbrel is another guy that turned down a QO, so if we sign him, it has to be under 50 million.
