Flowers does pass a lot of balls, but at least he came through in the tenth. Hopefully Luke Jackson doesn’t completely blow this game, he is so tough to watch.

Easily considering we haven’t won a series in San Diego in 8 years.

We need a closer though, this circus luck in the 9th inning is going to run out eventually.

Winning that series is a monumental mental milestone for this team, 8 years is a long time.

What would it cost to get Shane Greene? The Tigers are listening to all offers. He’s controllable through 2020.

Greene is fools gold. He is extremely lucky this year.

BABIP-.183.....career average is over .300
LOB%-86.1%.....career average is 69%
GB%-54.7%......career average is around 46%

His Ks are at his career average. His walks are at his career average. His fastball is 1.5 MPHs lower than last year and is only at 92.9 MPH.

There isnt anything that shows that what he is doing is sustainable. AA is smart enough to see this.

Then who? Tigers are non-contenders looking to bring in young guys.

Did you guys hear how excited chip got when he thought Riley’s sac fly was going out, only to be well short?

Yeah I’m not saying trade the farm for either one, but Detroit sucks and I’m sure they’re interested in some farm prospects. The Giants seem to want a shitload for Bumgardner.

Where are y’all seeing all the rumors linking us too all the top FAs? I’ve tried searching twitter. Is it behind a paywall somewhere? I’m not finding much of anything.

MLB trade rumors, mlb.com. Or just google Braves trade and see what the latest is.

So the A’s traded their #17 prospect for Royals starting rotation pitcher Homer Bailey. He’s nothing more than an inning eater.

Red Sox traded two 17 yr old prospects playing in Dominican Summer League for Orioles pitcher Andrew Cashman. Sounds like we need to be prepared to part ways with some decent prospects if we’re going to add a legit piece to the rotation or bullpen:

Trade prices reportedly 'enormous,' even for rentals

quote:

July 14: Despite the fact that teams aren't able to make trades in August anymore, the market hasn't picked up yet, aside from the Red Sox acquiring Andrew Cashner from the Orioles and the A's picking up Homer Bailey from the Royals. Perhaps it's because asking prices remain "enormous," Buster Olney reports in an article for ESPN+ (subscription required), citing conversations with executives around baseball. According to Olney, teams are requesting "very high-end prospects," even for rentals such as the Mets' Zack Wheeler.

Sucks about Cashner. He seemed like a guy who would be a nice low key addition (in my complete non-expert judgement).

wouldn't surprise me to see him be the casualty for Ender coming back. let him reset a little and come back a little later.

it would piss me off... but it wouldn't surprise me
