Why our next coach will be Lane Kiffin.

It's well known that HY wanted to hire him while at Houston. Also JCP wanted to hire him over Morris during our last search. But lets take other FACTS into consideration:

1. If you are a QB who would you want to play for? Kiffin, Norvell, Leach? Answer? All of the above.

2. While Leach clearly does more with less why do more with less? Why not bring in a coach who can recruit more? Again the answer is Kiffin.

3. Norvell has been winning but he's been doing so in the AAC. You think maybe the admin is a bit gun shy about bringing in yet another AAC coach? I would be. A plus would be that Norvell could recruit Memphis. But Kiffin can recruit nationally.

4. Kiffin gives you instant credibility in the SEC. Which coach could go out and hire a name like Pittman? Norvell? Doubt it. If anyone could it would be Kiffin.

5. Norvell appears to be good at evaluating assistant coaches and thats a plus for him. Its also a plus for Leach.

6. I believe that Arkansas will have to re-recruit KJ and if they are smart they will build the team around him. That makes all of these guys really good candidates. But Kiffins offense will be far more balanced.

In the long run someone like Norvell may have a higher ceiling. But he's a bigger gamble. Arkansas can't afford another gamble. Leach has been up in Washington for a long time. And recruiting in our footprint could be more of a challenge for him.

So I said all that to say this. All signs point to Kiffin. He has more P5 experience than Norvell. He has a bigger name nationally than even Leach. He can recruit us out of this mess. And obviously our AD wanted to hire him at his last stop.
