Why can't we find linebackers?

What's the deal?
I'm gonna go all tin foil hat on you and say we should recruit running backs and try to convert them. Arkansas produces plenty of running backs every year and its worth a shot. At this point I'm willing to try anything.

It's a very hard position to evaluate and develop. It's 80% instincts.

Pretty sure we picked up a 4* about a week ago.

I don't think much about the number of *s a player has or that we haven't recruited outside of our norm. I think it all comes down to coaching at a certain point. I mean, I understand athleticism and ability, but anyone with those two attributes should be able to be coached up in that position. We don't need 5* Linebackers.

Crockett certainly comes to mind

We've had good ones in the past.
Out coaches are fat and lazy and too comfortable in the jobs. As is true for 90% of the college coaches in the country. Fat, lazy and overpaid.
Saban, Petrino and a few others with relentless hunger to win being the major difference.
Petrino wasn't perfect here but you know the dude had a chip on his shoulder to win that was only rivaled by possibly Saban.

Yeah, Petrino had a hunger. For blondes. For lying. For being a terrible person. Petrino wasn't just not perfect. He was a piece of shite. But he won so yay!

In the past, like in the 70's and 80's. Perino sure as hell didn't have any.

Eh. He couldn't cover for his life. Same thing with all our other best LB the past 20 years.
