They have a final 4 banner. They may have fallen off but would you rather make a legit run at a championship or consistently be average? Nevermind I know the answer. The expectations of Arkansas basketball have become disgraceful by some people. It's a damn shame.

This really is true. The Heath/Pel years chopped the nuts off of what our expectations used to be. I grew up watching when a "down" year for the Razorbacks was a 5 seed and we were a 1 seed regularly. This being happy with a 9 seed shite is getting old. shite even Nolan's 12 seed team made the Sweet 16.

Holy Christ, I can't believe what I'm reading here. A final four banner is worth exactly nothing except a little recruiting leverage, but Frank G-damn Martin couldn't even parlay HIS banner into recruiting. If he did, he did a terrible job. If anything, he showed the world how to squander a final four appearance.

These frickin guys.

I wouldn't trade Mike for Frank and its not even close but final four means a lot for the right program. USCe isn't going to take advantage of the Final Four because it was a flash in the pan but if Arkansas pulled off a final four, it would mean alot more.

It may mean more at Arkansas, but Martin did nothing with his. Nothing at all. They're like the worst team in the league this year. And the league isn't very good.

Thats because of what I said and Martin is never going to be a great recruiter. In general though, a final four means alot with the right program and coach.

but suggesting that Frank Martin took USC to a higher level of performance at a faster pace, isn't....

Again, Final 4, even better than a Sweet 16.. MA hasn't even sniffed his jock strap … yet!

I also used White, Barnes, Pearl as examples... I chose the least coach of all of them, and even he has reached a higher high than CMA! Let that sink in.

All have higher rated/ranked programs, all have had more recent success, all in a shorter amount of time.

We are consistent alright. In every game on tv, it is mentioned that CMA "has never had a losing season" Whoop De Do! He also hasn't sniffed a final 4, or sweet 16 at Arkansas. With our facilities, history, an in state talent going elsewhere. Yep... Consistent alright!

I'm not gonna play the shifting goalposts argument anymore, rev. This is the very definition of a fruitless debate you are pursuing here. Baby Jesus says, "tsk tsk".

The goal posts haven't moved, neither had Mike Anders... therein the problem.

We are a medium level program, with a medium level coach. FWIW....

So in one post you say that it is okay that Mike has had no losing seasons, but then claim Carolina has fallen off the map post their final four run even though they haven't had a losing season?

So which is it?

No. It isn't, Rev. It isn't fun to have to try and justify my fandom of the only team I've ever loved for my entire life to fellow "fans" of the same program.

You're hardly a tree. More like the dingleberry of the earth, tumbleweed.

It's the eloquence of your words that suggest to me you're a man of mighty stature indeed, good sir.

I'll leave the descriptions of various types of excrement to your sound judgment.

This isn't justifying fandom. We're all fans. You just think the current leadership is ok while most others don't. It's not nearly as personal as justifying fandom.

I wish it were as simple as that. There are folks here who root for us to lose so Anderson looks bad. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it.

If need be I can point it out when they post, but I've done that before and it doesn't make any difference. So I would rather just drop it if that's alright with you guys. I mean, I've intimated as much several times now. That's the part that makes a person feel like they're justifying their fandom. "Hey guys, I'm sorry I even made the thread, let's move on."

"HELL NO, we are going to continue to talk in circles and make logically inconsistent arguments while claiming you're stubborn for sticking to your point!"

Apparently because it's "fun."

I wish it really was like this but you are seen as the enemy often times by either side if you don't agree.

BoarEd…

I am glad you are on this board, and I think you are a huge fan. As am I, I want greatly for MA to be ultra successful. I am not sure you could find a better human being to lead our BB program in any fashion.

I just want success from the past, to happen again. And I don't think he can, or will do it. Just because some of us believe we should have seen more results by now, doesn't mean we aren't passionate and desiring success. We simply are greatly exacerbated by the ineptitude of some of these players in the past, and the team as a whole.

You are stubborn, so am I... Where I guess I wrongly thought we were having a fun debate, you were not appreciative of said debate. I enjoy this stuff. Razorback fans going at it, in a passionate discourse.

If I offended you, I apologize.. Doesn't change the way I feel or believe. Hope MA proves me wrong, it would make me very happy!
