1. We do indeed have more talent than Washington state. I'd love to go 8-5 with what we are used to with Bert. And your forgetting how well he did at tech with just a little more talent. Rev, why do you dislike leach so much?

It appears as though there is no clear cut favorite replacement coach amongst us.

I don't dislike Leak so much, I don't even dislike him.

I think he is a very odd genius football coach. Very quirky and not a great recruiter, but his system does well against inferior competition and he can catch some historical programs off guard.

I figure he would be a 6=8 win average coach at most at Arkansas. With his demeanor, he wont get a lot of 4star or above anywhere he goes at this point in his career. Plus he is getting a bit older.

I think we can do better, now.. if he is hired, I will keep getting my tix and enjoy the show. It is definitely better than what I have seen around here in a while.

While he did well at Tech, he still only had one great season. He definitely did better than their historical average, but he wasn't killing people year in year out.

I have been following his teams since he was at Tech but his coaching background goes way back. The man has the the curiosity of a cat, the senses of a hound, and the tactical wisdom of a battle hardened guerrilla. He knows HOW to win and absolutely hates losing.

I do like his coaching philosophy. He covers it well in his book.

I seriously doubt he will be our next coach but I do think he would be quite successful. And he can recruit. And yes, he often uses curse words to make a point. Some may find that offensive. But I don't.

I do think he has a ceiling and I don't think Leach would be the magical cure all folks here think he would be.

Would people still support him here if we went out and got roflstomped Eastern Illinois? Or if Tulsa came in here and blew us out? Because Leach has had things like that happen at Washington State and he's had them happen after he's been there a while.

Getting Wazzo ranked 8th is impressive. Getting a complete beat down (followed by Leach hurling everyone but himself under the bus) by a mediocre California isn't.

Plus he isn't getting any younger and we can all think of great coaches who stayed in the game a couple of years longer then they should.

If we want to go with a coach with that style of offense and from that coaching tree we might as well get Neal Brown out of Troy. He's had success in rebuilding a program and we can probably get him dirt cheap.

Mike Leach has never had a team finish #10 or better.

I'll bet he would at Arkansas. That's just my opinion.

But there are some really good coaches out there who are younger and just as innovative.

Nothing.

I want a coach that has evolved with college football.

Spread, mobile QB, RPOs, Read option, etc...

His offense has already been in the sec and fizzled out as it brought in sanctions...

The reason our offense sucks is almost entirely due to the OL sucking. I'd take the offense in the second half of 2015 over any air raid offense.

I thought the 2015 was one of the best offenses I've seen. I'm not against what we do. I'm against the head guy running it.

I do not think leach would be a bad hire. I'm actually not against kiffin either. He runs a very new style of offense.

I just want a guy who is tough on his players, expects perfection, and can develop a qb.

Leach fits those categories. I also have stipulations on recruiting grounds. Leach has recruited Texas. Kiffin has been at Alabama that recruits the entire south. I'm not sure how much kiffin is on toughness though.

Look I don't think anyone here agrees on anyone but Gundy. I keep hearing we can do better. I want to hear the guy who is better. I think I have very specific and very well thought out wants in our new coach.

I'm mildly interested in him because of success at lower tiered schools; however, I hate losing 63-61. I don't know much about his defenses, but this seems to be the scenario for high scoring Offenses that don't give their D a rest. Our best teams had a solid defense.

On the other hand, I could totally see Leach running with tFlagship Pirate thing and it would be worth the entertainment.

1. Most entertaining press conference in the nation every week. Never know what he's going to say but you know he won't sugarcoat it.
2. Offensive innovation and scheme that allows lesser athletes to compete.
3. I just think it would be fun times for Hog fans!

the same offense that torched Saban a few years ago in the sugar bowl with Trevor knight as qb for OH? The same offense that made tim couch look like a 1st round draft pick?

Nothing you do not want that man anywhere near this place, he is a moron and a joke. He has done nothing that warrants this job.

Let me know when he has won a division or a conference, then come talk to me. He has done nothing that Price or Dykes did.
