Sadly, I supported the hire.

I am happy that I supported hiring Anderson, he is the best coach we've had since Nolan.

Are we getting the results we had in the mid 90's? Certainly not but we have had our best 5 year span with Anderson since Nolan left.

Really disappointing watching the AZ/WS game...they showed a graphic of the teams with the most consecutive 60+ point games in NCAA tourney. We were on the list, and in the top 5 with something like 20+ games. I don't remember the exact number but it was basically more than the number of NCAA tourney games I've seen us play in my lifetime

It was 40 games. Someone posted a screenshot in a different thread. That takes you back to the '89 tournament when we made the FF.

I try not to think about what might have been,
'cause that was then,
and we have taken different roads.

My issue with this Mike Anderson tenure is the defense has been mostly crap. That was supposed to be the big thing, but the press we employ is garbage. Oh sure, every now and then we'll turn a team over. The press we use seems to be geared to draining a few seconds off the shot clock. Not actually making someone uncomfortable.

The problem with pressing (full or half court) is it also depends on how physical the referees allow you to be. West Virginia ran one of the best full court presses this year. Got to the B12 championship, but got bounced in the first round of the NCAA. Granted their shooters went ice cold at the wrong time, but the main issue was that set of referees did not call physical fouls as lenient as the B12 refs had. That frustration led to additional turnovers, free throws and technical fouls for the other team to add points to the board.

I'd put MA on the hot seat this season. If he can't get the squad to postseason BB outside the SEC tourney, I'd be fine moving on.
