Petit Jean black peppered ham, cream cheese crab dip, and Blue Bell vanilla ice cream.

This thread is starting to read like the weekly school lunch menu.

Anyone here ever cooked a steak by the sous vide method? I’ve been reading up on it and am enthralled. I’m just curious if the meat turns out as good as it’s sold to be in the reviews.

Too much work for me, I can nail a steak every time in my cast iron skillet.

Other than length of time to cook, it sounds like the laziest method ever. Put a steak in a bag and let that tool do all the work. I could be missing something though.

Just looked it up on YouTube. I have never seen that before. Interesting for sure.

I like the flavor and how I cook it for my steaks. I use standard gas grill, but use Alegro to marinade it. Usually use the spicy and then put crushed red pepper flakes in the gallon bag. After marinade for a few hours, cook it on grill.

The Sous Vide device does look healthier though.

I have been wanting to do the reverse sere (sp?) but never have tried.

I've been married coming up 10 years. I usually only handle the grill responsibilities, but want to start cooking more.

Slept in late today, wanted a roast, but too late. Settled for the Pork Chops and Roasted Veggies.

Thanks ArHog

Never tried it, but if you give it a go I'd be interested to hear what your results are. To me it looks like a drawn out way of cooking a roast.

May be tasty, but I've always liked cooking steak in the skillet, like Pigfeet said, seasoned with nothing but a shitload of black pepper.

ETA: A good way to cook steaks, IMO, is to sear the steak in your cast iron skillet and then throw the skillet in the oven to cook the rest of the way.
