I asked them their thoughts on him. 247 link so you with accounts there can read

Now with more people saying they believe Kiffin is the target, and fuente the back up here is what I got out of them.

They said he doesnt like to recruit. Which is a huge red flag for me. I do not want him.

We will hire lane. I'm sure of it, but if he doesn't want to come. We need to hope FSU hires someone like mark stoops, or campbell. Not franklin at Penn st. Norvell would probably be considered there, and push us back on the waiting list. so we can get Norvell.

Goodbye then.

This simply cannot be an option for any football coach in the foreseeable future. It's why Kiff is the #1 answer, which means Fickell, a described devout Catholic Ohian, will probably be our head coach -- a candidate that screams Notre Dame or Big 10, but one that we will hire just becaue it's what we always do and be here again after 4-5 more yrs terribleness and and millions upon millions lost.

The answer is staring everyone in the face. Yall want the football version if Muss... Well that guy is Lane Kiffin.

Gut who grew up in a football family and has connections to huge names through his father's jobs, guy who burned out in the NFL, guy who loves football and knows nothing else, guy who had to take some lower coaching positions and was successful to regain a foothold for a big job, guy who wants bigly to be the coach here, guy who will connect with recruits, guy who knows and loves recruiting... Etc etc etc.

It's all there. It's easy. Just fricking announce the train is coming and get it over with.

no one is going to be announced until at least Sunday. Coaches don't leave until after the last regular season game.

ALL OF THIS!

Infact if we hire fickell, and not lane (should have been him or norvell 2 fricking years ago. How our admin was so fricking stupid I can't figure it out)

If we hire fickell I will porn bomb, and move on. I will be done with football, and so will the razorbacks after he flounders like bert did, and we cement ourselves as the kansas of the SEC. We may even end up worse than vandy if we hire the wrong coach. Over a decade of bad football is unfixable in this day an age.

Also if we hire fuente I hope we get chandler to come so I can get one more ironic laugh of the stupidity of our admin. I will send them a few letters telling them how stupid they are.

Well he may have more connections in Memphis or Oklahoma than the Virginia area which would benefit us more than them but yeah I don’t like the sound of that. Still, I want a staff that can actually coach and not just recruit because that’s what we had with Morris’ staff of almost all 30 year olds.

According to Biddy on 247 he has sources saying Fickell has no desire to leave Ohio for the forseeable future, guy has 6 kids and wife is from there. Think you’re safe saving the porn bomb for another day

The Fickell news certainly felt like leverage play by his agent with the success he's having at Cincy.

I can’t imagine Franklin going anywhere, or Penn State wanting him to go anywhere. I want Norvell less and less, the more I hear about him wanting to be anywhere but here, essentially. In my mind it’s Kiffin, Leach, or someone who really isn’t on our radar but really wants to right the ship.

Norvell has a bug in his behind about coming here because we passed him by in favor of Chad. Fine.

We are the not the Belle of the Ball here. I know FSU is the steak and blowjob deal on the table right now.

Fairly weak conference, rich recruiting grounds, and with any degree of success guaranteed prime time games.

I think Arkansas is not nearly as difficult a rebuild/maintain program as people are making it out to be.

Our last three coaches were an emergency hire, a coach who looked better on paper than he did in practice, and a longshot hire one of our boosters championed.

Surprise. Three bad hires in a row will make it seem difficult to coach here.

A good coach, who is prepared to put in some time to get things going, can win and possibly win fairly big here.

Agree completely. After reading the VT board, it seems to me the perception is we kicked Chad for not competing with Bama, LSU, Auburn, etc. Thankfully, I think potential coaching hires realize it was much more about the team’s lack of progress, and really regression, for two years.

They are right, of course, in that the SEC West is a meat grinder, and that it is going to take the right kind of coach to come in here and compete. Makes me think of the line in Full Metal Jacket. We need a coach who is crazy brave, not phony tough.

It’s got to be Kiffin or Leach, IMO.

We kicked chad out for being one of the worst head coaches of all time, and getting blown out by G5 schools. There is more talent on this team than what they have shown. We need a good coach to get their shite together.

I do not think Barry Lunney Jr. is the answer. But I do think he would have won some of the games we lost this year.

We are not good right now. But we could be more then absolutely terrible.

The baptists in Arkansas don't like heathen devil worshippers... or education or soap.

Catholicism is not huge in the south, or in Arkansas in particular. Not sure what he meant, but the Catholic folks where I live stick to themselves and don't really fit in well. It is their preference to do so.

Wouldn’t be shocked at all if we end up with someone not being mentioned. There’s no info getting out.

Here's a difference I've noticed:

In general, Catholics, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, and Methodists will enter a liquor store and greet one another while the others prefer the drive-thru.
