Watched an interview with one of the tight ends, said he didn't think Patton would be out long.
Hopefully it was just some sort of strain and they were being overly cautious.

Morris gets tough on players

quote:
"The physical scrimmage and coming off of the off day, the energy wasn't there even in the walk-through's and warming up," junior linebacker Scoota Harris said of the start of Monday's practice, the ninth of August Camp. About ten minutes into the workout Morris abruptly called the entire team together, tore into their casual pace of practice and promptly put them through a punishment drill of up/downs. "You push or I will. I got all day. I don't like your attitude," Morris barked.

quote:
Cantrell indicated, however, that Morris' reaction to a lack of energy by the team on the practice field was a departure from what the players were used to from the previous staff. "You put it into perspective, last year, a slow start, we didn't address it like that," Cantrell noted. "I think the biggest difference between the old staff and the new one is the emphasis on the culture that we're trying to build. It's not that coach B (Bielema) didn't emphasize it but, I mean, it's every day with coach Morris. We're pounding it. It all starts with a good foundation."
This quote tells me all I need to know about Bert’s style of coaching. He’s inconsistent and lazy and his team took in that attitude.

The more I hear about the last staff the more I realize why we lost so many close games. His leadership style probably costs us 3-4 wins a season when you look back on how many games were lost in the 4th QTR.

Which is why I am cautiously optimistic about this season. We have the talent with the right leadership can surprise some people. Well I thought that until our already deleted oline got butchered

If it weren't for our O-line (and QB to some extent) I think this sets up like Nutt's first season. But with both of those being huge questions marks 6-7 wins might be the ceiling this year.
Hope I'm wrong but I think we'll look back on this season and think about what could have been if we only had more depth/ talent on the O-line.

Patton should be back next week per Morris today.

Good deal, excited to see Bumper Pool making strides. He has good instincts from what I have seen. Mason and Foucha are gonna be big contributors this season by all accounts from interviews.

Foucha
I've seen Foucha's name mentioned more than anybody outside of your quarterbacks and the Scoota Harris' of the world. If he stays healthy, he seems like he's a special talent.

There's no chance in hell Bert would have kept practice outside in that rain today

but... in his defense.. there was a lightening strike within 725 miles....

Ty Storey deserves a shot just for having to sit behind the hot garbage that was the Allen brothers. Let him work it out on the field.

BA his senior year was the best qb ive ever seen at Arkansas. Anyone who remembers differently has an agenda.

Jr. Tyler Wilson was better in my opinion but I get what you are saying.

He would’ve had amazing numbers with a Pittman OL blocking for him. All those late hits especially from Bama, take a toll (are ejections under current rules).

The fact that he had a 6 TD and 7 TD game against SEC competition a few weeks apart in a Bielema offense is pretty amazing
