I'm pretty happy that our biggest problem with our coaching staff is whether or not our head coach is asking for too much of a raise.

You’re nitpicking now, but we lived through the Petrino fiasco, John L, and 3-9 with Bielema
If nitpicking is providing more context to the situation
It sucked but trying to label the situations the same is just lazy
There are some similarities but also major differences.

You’re just calling that entire horrible scenario “three years.”
How long was it? Once again, it sucked but wasn't as bad as the ending of Bert years and Chad

Usually two years in, Arkansas fans are already talking about firing the coach. Now the argument is pay raises which Sam will get.

Ok. It doesn’t matter if you think it was exactly as bad, the point is we got dazzled by one good season and backed the truck up because we thought we had our guy and didn’t want him to leave. We don’t need to do the same thing with Pittman.

The worst part of Bert that year is he underachieved. We didn't comprehend it because we were too focused on the SEC losing streak.

It really does matter if you are trying to say its the same thing to help your argument. Its fine, we are not going to agree on this
Having said that, I'm not saying he should just get w/e he wants, thats dumb and won't happen anyway. If he is asking for 7 million, they will settle somewhere between 7 and his current contract. You can also create contracts that reward him with a significant raise but also protect the program in the case that he just flops. IMO the main problem with the Bert contract was the latter wasn't done well. The whole "don't back up the truck" saying doesn't really address the problem to me.

Bro, you’re just needling me about semantics. We shouldn’t give Pittman a huge new contract for one good year. Clear enough?

Do I think we should pay Pittman $7m? No.
Is he going to get it? Yes.
Will I get over it and continue to watch? Absolutely.

Sorry but if I see a bad comparison I'm going to point out why its bad.
Regardless, that last post was mainly just clarifying my overall view on the subject and was ready to agree to disagree/move on from that. That last part wasn't even about you.
