Clay Henry is indeed floating a Tim Horton trial balloon in his latest column. That’s a negative, Ghostrider. When it comes to RB coaches, the pattern is most definitely full.

Those people over there are dumb.

One guy said, "Gundy was interviewed by Tennessee. Confirmed by Wolken. That's a real rumor."

Say wha? If it's confirmed it's not a rumor. It's a fact.

So let me just say that I have no connection in Fayetteville but I do have a slight connection to Gus.

Knowing the little that I know my odds for the next guy look like this.

Gus 15%
Norvell 80%
the field 5%

Gus is playing us for a raise unless all hell breaks loose in the SECCG this weekend.
It's gonna be Norvell.... the firm is just a smoke screen to keep it all quiet.

If Auburn were to lose this game I think it would get pretty damn crazy around here.

But I imagine Auburn wins and all this melts away pretty quickly after that. Well, except for the hopelessly delusional types who think it's prudent or wise to hold out until some time next year to hire our next coach on the prayer we could pull him away anyways.

The chances of Gus being the next coach here appear to be somewhere between slim and none. Even if the guy wasn't simply angling for a raise there is bad blood there.

That's a damn expensive smoke screen considering how much money we have going out the door already. Couldn't they just...like...lie about it to the media?

Well, if we hire Norvell after the search firm. I think most rumors of any issues with him and gambling would go out the door. Not that they are legit to begin with.

The only other direction I could see us going at this point would be Kiffen or Morris. I think the money in NWA doesn't care for Kiffen. I feel like Morris might not be what they are looking for either for whatever reason. I personally feel that there is basically no difference between Morris and Norvell. Morris might even be better, he just inherited a much tougher situation.

If there is any damn sense up there they are at least still considering Venables.

Yeah I don't know why Venables hasn't had more support. Dude is high energy and all business. Maybe Norvell can lure him away from Clemson?

One thing that worried me about Morris was the calling to go home. Now that A&M appears to have Jimbo, I'm not as worried anymore.

I doubt Jimbo lasts too long there.
He is vastly overrated IMO.

I mean it doesn't really matter. He will be there 3 years minimum.

Venables has a lot of support with the fanbase. And with some of the people who make the decisions.

Yeah. I mean, I think Morris would be a good hire for us. It would suck to lose him right about the time he started winning a lot of games though. Lol. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if that's exactly what happens actually.

It could happen but if A&M is wanting him after Jimbo fails then that means he has been doing well here. It would be a much tougher jump going from Ark to A&M than SMU to A&M. Especially if he had things rolling.
