Would ASU Beat Arkansas in 2018
Not trying to start the debate...just passing on the info (which was referenced in the ADG this morning).

ASU has a solid Sunbelt program. They could trip up just about anyone especially an inconsistent team like Arkansas has been post Petrino. If Arkansas is going to play Sunbelt and Southland teams they may as well play the instate schools.

There is some truth to this, but it's a poorly written article that nobody bothered to proofread. Reads more like something posted on tRant by a common fan than a professional.

I'd rather not play someone whose fanbase celebrated Frank Broyles' death. They are the creepy stalkers who blame us for any misfortune they suffer. If it wasn't for us then they would be 20 time national champions. If someone in jonesboro gets cancer they blame Frank. They are a weird bunch that celebrates our losses more than their victories. Us losing the CWS was the greatest event in jonesboro tech history.
The BS argument about keeping the money in state is just that..... pure BS. jonesboro tech will make just as much if not more money by playing other P5 schools. If we play them we would pay them the minimal amount simply due to travel. Beyond all of that I really don't give a flying frick about helping the state anyways. I want to help the Razorbacks and nothing more.
Also, I find it funny that people only bring this debate up when we are bad and they are "good". It's like some fans or residents of arkansas want to see another instate school beat us. I'm sure there would be a chance but every time someone brings us Toledo I just mention the fact that Toledo kicked the shite out of jonesboro tech 3 times in a row. You can't cross compare scores anyways.... if that was true then we could find a way to say we could beat Oklahoma or other programs that would kick the dog shite out of us. Similarly, SMU beat Arkansas State last season with a whole lot less talent (based on overall roster) than what we have currently. I'd like to think that Morris could beat them with our roster....but it doesn't matter anyways.

Could they beat us? Well, yeah, on any given Saturday any FBS, and a couple of FCS, schools can beat anyone else. I would not, as an example, care to see North Dakota State down here unless it was very early in the season when the heat might overcome them.
Is it likely? Not really. I mean, I will grant you, under Bielema we had a bad, bad, tendency to play down to the level of opposition. Witness the win over Coastal Carolina. Thankfully the big guy is gassing on about how wonderful it is to coach in the NFL right now.
I would think even with our depleted roster would be able to defeat them.

Honestly..... I never knew there was red pup fans who hated The University of Arkansas and the Razorbacks. Every Razorback fan I knew rooted for them so I thought the feeling was reciprocated.
It wasn't until I saw one of them make fun of Canaan Sandy on twitter that I discovered their hatred. It pissed me off but ultimately I ignored most of them. It didn't really pop up again until someone posted a link to their message board on reddit. It was about their fans going apeshit over Miami cancelling the game. It was pretty pathetic. Then I found the thread about Frank Broyles passing. Pretty disgusting.
It's easy to get mad and say... "Let's play them and beat the crap out them." But I figured out the best way to piss them off is to continue to ignore them and reiterate how awesome it is to have an entire state to yourself.
I honestly rarely think about them but when I do I simply feel pity.

SAU beat them in basketball (exhibition I believe) recently.
UAM beat them in baseball a couple years back as well.
I kinda understand losing to UCA. The purple cubs are a salty FCS team but I honestly don't understand how any D1 program loses to a D2 program.
