I mean hell, Shannon has had the opportunity to go be a DC or head coach elsewhere but decided to stay here and be a position coach.

Rumors are he turned down Petrino for the Louisville DC job. He was also rumored to have taken his name out of consideration for the Oregon DC as well.

lot's of staff turnover on the defensive side of the ball. seems like bert realized the coaches on that side of the ball weren't gonna cut it in the SEC and set about replacing them. doesn't seem like he's even attempted to keep any of them.

partridge gone
ash gone
taver gone

good to see some changes happen after going 3-9. excited to see what the defense looks like this season

True. To be fair, though, I wouldn't include Partridge as part of the house cleaning since he took a head gig back home.

But yeah, Taver and Ash were essentially shooed away.

I sort of feel bad for Taver. His decision to come here backfired tremendously after Harleygate. He left Ohio State when it looked like it was a sinking ship to come here with Haynes when we were riding high in 2011, capped off by tCotton Bowl victory.

After that, well...it came up snake eyes. Petrino wreck, Uncle Slappy as head coach, a lame duck staff, some seniors who quit, no talent or depth in the back seven, and the result was two of the worst Razorback Football seasons ever.

He had offers if you go read about him and his story though it makes sense why he'd turn them down. I legitimately think he doesn't want to call the shots he's trying to learn about off the field side of running a program

As long as they are competent recruiters, I'll be happy.

Totally. He was one of the few likable guys on staff during all the darkness. Even so, I never got the feeling that he was all that great of a coach. Hope he finds a home though.

Yea I don't think Bert really wanted to lose Partridge

But to keep Shannon he was either going to have to leave or take a demotion
