agreed. they have been putting up a clinic on offense lately but they are not the same team as last year. neither are we but home field is the deciding factor.

eh. define clinic. State only scored 17 against Auburn and A&M. Outside of LSU (whose secondary is weaker than normal, and if Dak is such a big threat, you would think they'd score more than 19), they haven't played a defense of note.

I'm not saying it's a sure win, because there's no such thing with this team, but I still think we get the win.

(To me) It would take winning 3 out of 4 and being very competitive in the one loss to cover the stench of Toledo and Tech losses. 2 out of 4 is acceptable I guess, but I wouldn't feel we've made a lot of progress this year. Yes, I know we won on the road, won an OT game, beat AU etc.. so I guess that IS a little bit of progress. But 3 wins would really feel good moving forward.

This season already has a giant shite stain on it that won't be removed regardless of what happens the rest of the year. I'm just hoping for a bowl berth, win or lose, and to move on and completely forget about this year.

This. I'm still in Bert's corner, but this season has me doubting his ability to take that next step with our program. I like the way we fought in some games, but I just can't get past yet another sluggish start to the season, and the Toledo and Tech games were fricking awful.

If we win 3 of the next 4 and go 5-3 in the SEC, how can you say that Toledo ruins the season?

Because they're a fricking MAC team.

In your SEC record scenario, beating Toledo and Tech would've put us on the doorstep of 10 wins. There's a monumental difference between 9-3 and 7-5, especially given where we've been the last few years.

By losing to Northern Illinois, at home.

LSU is getting demoralized by Bama right now. Next week is very winnable. Key in on the run, which is actually our strength, and you stop LSU's offense. Same as last year.

Exactly. The LSU game looks a lot more winnable after tonight.
