His girlfriend and mother of his 1 month old child was killed in a few nights ago in a vehicle accident after having car problems and exiting the vehicle.

Sad for all involved

Dang that’s an especially horrible story and he was even witness to it. Prayers for all involved.

You just realized he used to play for Arkansas? He was a beast for us. Didn't he play for a time along side both Darius Philon and Trey Flowers? Talk about a bad arse defensive line.

This story is awful. Thoughts for his family. It would be very hard to continue to go on after something like that.

Yep. We should’ve realized with that defense if bert could only muster 7 wins he really just wasn’t a good football coach. That was honestly the best defense we’ve had in the 23 years I’ve been alive. Even better than the jamaal Anderson Chris Houston defenses in mid 2000s we may not have won as much but from a talent perspective that was our best. I hate beating a dead horse but I’m gonna take a few swings anyway. Petrine was building something special. With that defense and Brandon Allen under Petrino we would’ve had more double digit win seasons. That frick face couldn’t help but think with his pecker though smh.

Spaight was a big part of that defense too though and he was a Bielema guy. Chris was gone by 2014 or that defense could have been even better

Seems like it's just our luck that as soon as the defense is dominant, the offense is mediocre and then the very next year the offense is lights out and the defense drops off. Just like how if Matt Jones was born a little later or McFadden a little earlier we could have had both of them on the same team.
