And yet we can't get one up here in Springfield which is two short hours away.

I gave it another try this weekend. I just don't get it. Tenders were boring and the wings were puny. Fried mushrooms were good, though.

Chicken salad leaves a lot to be desired.

I don't care if they have good sauce - I want good chicken.

I'd take Church's, Popeye's or CFA over Slims any day.

Or you can just grill them at home in 7 minutes, and stave off the type2 diabetes.

You can make their sauce by using their recipe. Same with Canes and Zaxby's.

The sauce is the only real draw to me to those chicken tender places.

Assume much? I can count on one hand the number of times I eat fried chicken in a year. I eat grilled chicken breast a couple times a week at home.

When I do splurge, I want it to be worth it, and Slim's ain't.

I was joking (not about the cayenne ranch, it's liquid happiness), you're not far off in your original point. Their tenders are excellent when when they're shaken in your sauce of choice, but they're pretty meh if you get them dry.

Still, it's a staple of my college years, and I've still never had a bad meal there.

Slim's has grilled tenders and wings. I don't know if I have ever eaten their breaded wings sober.

Tried the Cayenne Ranch chicken sandwich the other day. Tasted like Wendy's. The fries were really good. Wanted to try their cheesecake dessert in a jar but they were out.

May have to try the grilled wings the next time it snows since it's within walking distance of where I live

I understand. I have a ridiculous affection for Panera since I practically lived at St. Louis Bread Co. in college.

*shrug*

Dip them in ranch and serve em up with a side of fries... the type2 will still claim you.

It's not hard to cut up a chicken breast and toss it in a pan. Although it will dry out much more than cooking the whole thing with a sear.

I'm with you 100%. I've eaten there twice and just didn't care for it. I also don't like AQ Chicken very much, but everyone also tells me that it's gone way down in quality and actually lived up to the hype for a long time.

Slim's has the smallest chicken tenders, but I actually think they're seasoned pretty well. Not a juicy as Popeyes or Canes tho.
The AQ chicken in Springdale is really good. The one in Fayetteville is slightly better than Cracker Barrel lol.
