Reasonable expectations for basketball team as of today?

What are yours? Post them before our questions are answered in the tough streak of games coming up.
I came to terms with the lack of star-talent, but love the grit and awareness. They remind me of a dangerous mid-major team. They have (barring an unprecedented run in SEC play) eliminated themselves from the NCAAs, but maybe NIT bound? They deserve it if they continue to play like they are.

16 wins. I know better than to get excited over 1 basketball game where pioneer didn't even start the thread.

NIT would be nice spring board into next season with all those juco players coming.

This - the pioneer part.

i think so too. i wish durham and bell weren't seniors. this would be the perfect set up season to gain experience for the whole team.

if this team is gonna make any noise, its gonna happen in the next 3 weeks, with 2 ranked teams at home and LSU and Georgia on the road. Texas Tech at home in the big12 challenge. so we'll see.
going 3-2 and not collapsing in Feb might set us up for an NIT run.

NIT more then likely. Still, considering what the season looked like before it started, the NIT would be manna from heaven.

1 game at a time. But last night's game was super fun to watch. I'm loving the freedom Mike has given some of the guys to shoot 3's. Live by it; Die by it, but it's the best option we have.
I think this team, regardless of talent, shows a lot more basketball IQ than Hog teams of the past. That is very refreshing. And I love me some Moses.

They're definitely being coached up. They fight hard and have pride. Other than recruiting I think Mike is getting his job done pretty well.

NIT but NCAA is no longer completely out the question. A lot of close loses to good mid major teams/ decent P5 teams isn't the nail on the coffin just yet. The worst team we lost to is probably Stanford, but even they're 9-6. Let's wait and see if we can't pull a few upsets and slide in like Ole Miss last year.

I'll reserve judgement until they beat a team w/ a pulse.

Ky never fit the bill for what MA needed, imo. He and Harris created too many dead spots in the motion, and last years team never seemed to know what to do once the ball got in high-post. jacorey/harris seemed to force a shot every time they got a touch there. our play against zone d is the best ive seen in a long time. prob a combination of less selfish, more coachable guys.

You are to Mike what Dale is to DVH.

By not being an embarrassment at this point in the season, they have wildly exceeded my expectations for this team.
I've always said that MA and/or someone on that staff knows how to develop and get all they can out of the limited talent they are able to recruit.
But we'll never amount to much until something changes with the recruiting.
Fan interest is on the rise after these last few performances.
We might be capable of pulling a big upset of a ranked team that struggles guarding the 3 point line.

i've bribed my 2 f'villian nephews into going to that game. i don't know if they had intentions before the bribe or not (i've been on their asses about attending) but it's a food bribe so i knew it would work and they will be there.
this team is fun to watch generally- the fans SHOULD be there.
