Yea I have been doing online courses at the Community College in DeQueen since they are transferable to the UofA. I have a lot of certifications and military schools that I hope can be turned in for credits in the degree plan I'm looking at.

You will have to meet with an adviser to see about the certs and see what they can do. I recommend you meet with an adviser about scheduling every semester even though you can do it yourself online and they try to pawn it off on you to do so.

One reason for this is, even if you have you education paid for by scholarship or grant, it is still your time, the longer you are in school, the less time you have to meet you earning potential, so you want to get through ASAP and find a job. So meet with an adviser and try to fast track through you degree plan, comp classes, take summer classes etc.

The college experience is cool, but you know, you are 26 and married...

Yeah, I have some kickers too. I am using Chapter 33 so they charge the school directly and I get $1500 a month to go to school. I attent UAFS.

Ok cool. I still need to do some research to see what I'm eligible for.

I'm 28, married, own a house, and I have a 7 month old daughter. I find it hilarious when a teacher 2 years older than me is talking to the class about what it will be like when they grow up. Of course, I am not the Non-Trad that speaks up about it in class. It is weird taking classes with 18yr olds, but you get used to it. I am done with most of my core requirements so my classmates are generally older. I'm pretty much in the middle age range for my IT classes.

I'd imagine quite a few. Hard to get Hog news traveling the world on Uncle Sam's dime, message boards are a good place to stay in tune.

You may want to meet up with the schools financial advisers along with whatever is available military grants, you could be eligible for pell grants.

Wouldn't hurt to go ahead and fill out the FAFSA if you haven't done so already.

I know my grades dropped a one to two letters when having to work full time and when I didn't, FWIW.

I'm an 88N which is Transportation Coordinator. I'm at Ft. Bliss right now, but I've been to Germany and Virginia previously. Good luck!

I went back and snagged a couple of degrees at 29. Most of the time you're not even gonna be close to the oldest person in your class.

Getting those gen eds out of the way somewhere else at a lower price tag is a good idea, and when you are in classes for your major there are fewer people and they are older.

hellz yea I went back at 28 after shitting my early to mid 20's away.

There's a lot to be said about figuring some things out about life before commiting to the expense and time of college. You'll need that foot in the door the degree provides and the knowledge and skills you'll learn while earning the degree.

Make as many friends as you can, and get to know the admins.

I made it a point to become known to the presidents and deans of the schools I've attended. They like to see students getting involved and committed.

Good luck and work hard!

Haha really? I work at the ADACG 3 days of the week. That sucks about deleting your shite. Are you deploying? I was the UMO for my unit too. It took me 3 days to build our UDL.

26 is not that old at all to start, go for it. Loved my time at the U of A, some of the greatest years of my life
