Why would anyone give much a shite about Nutt at all?

People like Hawgalude can't stop thinking about Nutt for some reason. EVERYTHING goes back to him. Think Petrino should have ran the ball more? Why you must be a Nutt Hugger. THink Petrino shouldn't have had an affair with the woman he did? Why what about what Nutt supposedly did with Bragg?

See, they are just delusional and obsessed.

And yes, I admit my OP was a bit of a troll. But only b/c I get tired of hearing how wonderful Petrino was. he was not.

Not at all. Even with Bobby has HC, the best he could do with what Nutt left behind was 5 wins. Even with a retard as HC right now, we'll get more than that.

The proof of this is that sao was warned by admin when he stared his shite then banned when he continued it.

You may nit like my opinioms but please accept the fact that that lunatic sao pulked a fast one both on here and over a hogville.

Thank you

Are you saying that Sao was "SugarHog", or that you weren't "SugarHog", or both?

What's missing is their head coach from last year, Garrick McGee, and even Willie. Two of the coaches who have replaced them have not really been around this team (Paul P. at Illinois) until this year and the other one makes ya wonder. Paul H. was an assistant at OSU and really wasn't calling the shots there. Bobby's not around to help him either, which I think would have created a better situation.

Talent isn't the issue.

You people are delusional if you don't think lack of talent is playing a role in our downfall.

Did you know, Arkansas had exactly ZERO defensive players drafted since Petrino took over recruiting? Not ONE player.

In that same time period, Arkansas State had 4 defensive players make NFL rosters. FOUR.

Petrino's a GREAT coach. And he sure as hell knows how to develop skill positions.

But he has NOT accumulated anywhere NEARLY enough respectable defensive talent to be forgiven for his ineptitude in recruiting. And that's not even counting the TWENTY defensive players he's recruited who either never made it to campus, got kicked off the team, or transferred. TWENTY.

Not to mention the relatively poor OL recruiting/retention.

Coaching is a huge problem this season.
But so is talent. We have talent at QB, RB, TE, and WR. The DL has some talent, though it hasn't resulted in getting pressure on ANY QB's. Every other area on the team pretty much sucks: LB, Secondary, OL. All of those areas f'ing suck. The talent just isn't there.

Fact. Look at the stats. Look at the mock drafts. Look at their offers coming out of high school. It's a FACT that the majority of our defense wasn't well thought of coming from high school. It's a FACT that the majority of our remaining OL didn't have offers from high-major BCS schools.

Petrino recruited QBs immensely well, and developed them. That's the MOST important thing in college football, IMO. But you HAVE to have a defense that's at LEAST on a Big East level. And that's the sad part. Rutgers has WAY more NFL prospects on their defense than we do.

Talent is down this year, but that's not the reason we suck as bad as we do.

That's the context I thought BTHog was arguing.

It's down BIG TIME and it's going to take years for it to catch up (defensively).

I'm not sure he didn't. I think it's about even. I think we're worse off defensively, but better offensively. Better on special teams for 1 more season. But it's not the runaway, definitively lopsided question it used to be.

I am convinced that Petrino is going to have a helluva time recruiting wherever he lands, unless it's in a hotbed.

I think you hit on the key reason it looks closer than it really was. QB.

Let's look at the time period between 2002-2006 and tell me what those teams could have done with a tyler wilson... QB was the missing component. our OL was more than average, our running game was outstanding, and we had defenses that at least kept us in games.

now look at the holes in our program. What position other than WR really do you feel we are okay at? By the way, i acknowledge that Bobby Allen would probably just step in for Wilson next year if BP were here.
